Unobtanium: aleister_greynight: I don't suppose there is a less than 20 page summary somewhere?  I didn't get remotely close to even the middle of that article.

It's basically a detailed narrative of what happened to him as his bosses went from "never Trump" to supporting Trump. He wrote stuff critical of Trump that he says would not have been challenged had he used the same language about Obama or Hillary. Also, he got into a fight with his bosses because he wanted to use the word "evil" about the child separation policy at the border. He also gets into the fracas between his publication (Christian Post) and Christianity Today.

If I go there will be trouble.

"Those who don't know Land personally might also be surprised at how progressive he is on women's issues. Privately, he criticizes the misogyny of fellow Southern Baptist pastors."

Truly, his bravery is unparalleled.

And if I stay it will be double.

FTA: Political science taught me political parties are good. The Christian Post taught me partisanship is bad. Democracy isn't possible without political parties. All democracies must build governing coalitions. Parties are the vehicles we use to do that. But when parties represent competing cultural symbols rather than governing philosophies, our politics devolves into groupish sniping. They become vehicles for attacking our perceived enemies rather than constructive debates over the common good.

...does anyone know what Nazworth's Fark handle is?

DrD'isInfotainment: Anyone and everyone who associates themselves with Trump ends up irreparably compromised.
After he stabs them in the back for good measure.

I told a Lutheran friend his vote for Trump would have to be answered for when he stands in judgment. He asked me why I thought that, and I basically told him he voted for the literal antithesis of his faith in human form. He'd have to explain that when he stood in judgment. His response was less than charitable.

Times were good we we got to bag on Obama and Hillary.  They didn't like when I started bagging on Trump and I'm totally shocked to find out that these were only prosperity gospel charlatans!

LordJiro: EL EM: My question is, is there anything left that hasn't been warped in some way after this nearly four year "experiment/nightmare"?

Most of the bad shiat we've seen under Trump has been here. Trump just tore the facade down.

Evangelicals and their ilk have been fascist, hypocritical shiatstains for a while now.

Yep.

The Gilded Fatso is such a nice, crisp name for him. One of the few enjoyable parts of the last four millennia of hell since 2016 has been seeing all of the creative and biting nicknames people came up with for the malignant bag of sharts in the White House.

It's my sincere hope that Trump's corpse-hole is marked by a terrible black obelisk with all of the cleverest and meanest names etched on its sides. Preferably soon.
