In-a-Tub (NKC, MO) uses powdered cheese on their tacos and they are addictive as hell.  They've been around since the 1950's so science says they are doing something right.  Just avoid the place if you have a heart condition.

I bought a little bottle of powdered cheese for my homemade popcorn. In reasonable amounts, the stuff is pretty expensive. In ridiculous bulk amounts, it's dirt cheap.

Damn you, economics!

They advertise it on their signs, even, like it's a virtue. There's one not too far from me (the one near Zona Rosa) but I'm afraid of it. Remember them from the mall back in the day. I was more about the mall pizza and big-ass cookies back then, though.

It never occurred to me that I could raid the cheese packs from the macNcheese and make cheddar popcorn.

Seems real obvious.

It's like fifteen bucks for a pound from Amazon.  With shipping.

Use it all the time...used to have "Cabot Cheddar Shake", but they don't make it anymore. Now it's the King Arthur version, a little milder. Favorite use is with grits, either with a recipe (shrimp, scallops, etc.), or just the grits with scallions sprinkled on top. Another fave is mac and cheese using tubettini and any kind of seafood. Yum!

The one on North Oak is the place to go, if you ever get curious.
