The one thing I learned from that article is that the ghost pepper Dunkin donut causes diarrhea... Verbal diarrhea. Just get to the point, will ya?

Ghost Peppers are not the world's spiciest; even a brief touch of research prior to publication would have shown that.  Readers know things so that writers don't have to.

Nonetheless, this is relevant to my interests and I will be making a trip to try one.

grew habaneros, ghosts, scorpions and reapers this year... had tons of peppers and experimented with some jelly recipes to get rid of some of them... habanero pineapple jelly is delicious if not very hot (you could make it hotter, but we'd never had it before and just followed the recipe which only called for like 3 habanero peppers in the batch.)
but we also made a 'ghost pepper' jelly...which called for something like 2 lbs of peppers... and I didn't have enough ghost peppers... I did have enough if I included scorpions and reapers... so we made that... its like semi liquid capsaicin extract... super hot... but it does seem to be a pretty good way to preserve some of the harvest and you can just add a spoonful to any sauces or things where you want a little sweet and a lot of hot.

Laobaojun: I had one by accident at work.
Meh.
Spicy doesn't improve their maple donuts.

It's on a Strawberry Donut.

I also thought it was pretty good.  The heat works with the sweet, and it's not that hot.
The frosting has a moderate kick, but overall i'd give it like a 3.5 out of 10 on heat.

It's not bad. It's not super good either. Not much heat, just a bit of warmth that stays with you as you chew. But unlike other limited time food promotions, this one won't turn your poop green. Try it as a novelty, it's not going to be life changing.
