F*ck you, Blanche.

You created that very situation 4 years ago because reasons and you flip-flopped faster than a light switch.

2020-10-22 12:18:51 PM
DIAF, Lindsey.

2020-10-22 1:16:22 PM
How many goddamn judicial positions did he hold open in Obama's second term?

2020-10-22 1:33:58 PM
Lindsey, McCain would have been ashamed of what you are doing. I hope you know this.

It's amazing it can say this with a straight face.

Gee, the GOP are lying hypocrites, who knew?

Stop deifying McCain.  He unleashed Palin on us and would be pretty much lock step with Trump now especially when you look at Arizona.

2020-10-22 1:51:35 PM
Use his words against him.  He said to do it.  He knows that there is nobody holding them accountable.

2020-10-22 1:51:39 PM
That much bullsh*t should be stroke inducing.

2020-10-22 1:51:56 PM
Suck it, Blanche.

Oh, wait, you'd like that. Goddammit.

I don't think that comment is necessarily defying McCain, but merely acknowledging the vaunted status he holds among Republicans.

Harrison needs to get an ad up ASAP that's just a split screen of Lindsey in 2016 justifying holding open the seat vs. this.

Watch the wailing and squealing and sqwaking when The Dems pack the courts.

The Republicans started a dangerous precedent

Absolutely!  We need more judicial powerhouses like John Marshall, William Rehnquist, Earl Warren, and Elena Kagan!

I know it is a rhetorical question, but during Obama's presidency, 105 positions were blocked from being filled.

Kagan had zero years as a judge.  This isn't a good line of argument, really.

If we want to get technical, previous judicial experience is not a constitutional requirement. And many justices never sat on the bench before SCOTUS. Some damn good ones: John Marshall, William Rehnquist, Lewis Powell Jr., Abe Fortas, Earl Warren, William Douglas, Felix Frankfurter, Louis Brandeis and Elena Kagan.

That said, I still believe that Barrett is a dark money stooge being shoved on the bench to stack the court with a conservative majority in a grotesque Republican abuse of power. But that she has never sat on the bench is should not disqualify her.

HRC was arguably the most uniquely "qualified" person to ever run for POTUS.

Trump is inarguably the least qualified person to ever run for POTUS.

Lindsey is a hypocritical SOB is my point here.

I know it been said before but it bears repeating.

Kagan was the Solicitor General and Scalia(!) pushed the Obama administration for her nomination. I don't think you can really question her qualifications. She and Amy Covid Barstool are in different galaxies.

Also, Palin wasn't McCain's idea. It was Steven Schmidt who suggested her. He's repenting of that with The Lincoln Project and he acknowledges that he was very wrong to foist her on us.

I'm not claiming that Justice Kagan wasn't qualified, nor am I claiming that future Justice Barrett is qualified.

I'm saying "have more than three years as a judge" isn't a good line of argument.

It's not a hypothetical, you know.  He was in the Senate for over a year during the Trump administration.  You can actually look at how that went to verify your hypothesis.

I really wish this notion would just go away.  Elena Kagan hasn't been a disappointment during her time as a justice, and she hadn't even been a judge when she was appointed.  Same with William Rehnquist.
