I think it's best to just let this one burn out on it's own, boys and girls.

When the guy running for president in 2016 in a country that has been GREAT for eight years said LET MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, the only legitimate response was WTF are you talking about?

After all, it's a pretty great country that let a criminal like the Dotard pay $750 in taxes and continually bankrupt himself to escape responsibility.

DUDE thanks for reminding me I actually came here to say I watched Road House (1989) for the very first time ever two days ago.  Didn't recognize him at all, but when he opened his mouth....

So ... one of the most amazing things about derailment pictures is that there is almost ALWAYS exactly one worker in the picture.  As if to suggest it's up to this one sadsack to deal with this colossal pile of failure entirely on their own.  And their posture always backs that suggestion up with the implication that they are thinking "you see the shiat I have to put up with?"

I like how this one talks about how it was the voter's mistake that they have to own up to.  Not just another dig at Trump.  It is asking the people who voted for Trump to recognize their mistake.

As on topic as the same argument in every Lincoln Project thread. It's as predictable as a gun or cycling thread.

4 years?

The election is in what 12 days?

So will they start immediately after the election or wait until after the inauguration or put it off a little while longer to get Biden to focus on uniting America instead of exposing the GOP's culpability in helping Trump.

Ain't going to take four years, absolutely latest time will be 2022 for the mid terms

Pretty good. Aimed squarely at people who voted for Trump In 2016 who may be regretting that decision now.

It should appeal to voters on the right who still have at least some small measure of brains and shame left.

The exact timeframe was arbitrary and much less relevant than the main point...

Yeah.
We all know that.
Conservatives will always exist.
What these particular conservatives have done though, is repudiate Trumpism.
Differing opinions on how to run the country will always occur.  Conservatives/liberals/progressives will always exist and will always have to negotiate and figure things out.
The evil that is Trump and his cohort must be excised (cohort= any R who hasn't repudiated trump)

Unfortunately, it's pretty much too late to put that same blame dynamic toward the 90 million people who were too apathetic to be bothered to vote in 2016. This all could have been prevented, or at least the worst of it.

Yes they are the good guys here and the enemy of my enemy is my friend, etc. ad nauseum.... and yes, we NEED the two sides in a healthy democracy for a kind of equilibrium. The problem is, while they may feel morally superior in repudiating Trump, he was simply the ultimate conclusion to the Republican story -- run amok.
Trump created nothing. He is their Frankenstein monster. He's a creature of their creation. Trump isn't a Republican, but he took the worst parts of republicanism and ran with it, and many if not most fell into goose lock step right behind him.

/So what I'm saying is: no hot showers in the wee hours of the morning with Lady G and friends.
//Not even a reach around.
