Haven't we been saying this for YEARS?

2020-10-21 11:16:30 PM
He isn't deteriorating. This is him. We've watched him for 5 years. I think the difference this time is that all his little nicknames and slogans and bullshiat isn't sticking anymore. Thinking people are on to the game and not playing anymore. People who "gave him a shot because they didn't want Clinton" are not going to vote for this imbecile, I'm hoping.
If I'm wrong, I'll be one of those out there working for the next 4 years to change the election process so that a person like this never sees that office again.

This. He is who we thought he was, and we crowned his ass anyway. DennisGreen.jpg. Nothing we've seen is surprising or unexpected. It's just shocking the extent to which those of us who objectively observe reality have been proven right. Time and again. Dozens of times a day.

Alarmingly, Trump is losing his grip on reality.

You can't lose what you don't have.

From the article
"As mental health professionals, we see a disturbed and destructive man whose psyche is unraveling before our eyes"

His psyche wasn't really raveled before was it?

If he wonders why he's losing.  People just want normalcy.  We want tweets from the president to be about subjects like "Happy arbor day" not "I want my political opponents arrested"

I call it the Van der Linde effect.

The more he deteriorates the less chance he will be prosecuted for any crimes. I don't think any Democrats have the balls to engage in the optics of trying to throw a senile old man in jail. Would love to be pleasantly surprised.

2020-10-22 5:01:42 AM
I want female reporters to ask him questions in a setting he can't leave that will cause a fell rage melt down. I want to see him act out in public the way we suspect he does in private. I want his BP to skyrocket.

What gets me is the absolute unwillingness to see things for what they are, even when they're staring people in the face, that we've seen over the last...fark, 400 years? Something close to that, I'm sure. For everyone having an aneurysm every time they see a "But what does he mean by that very clear and horrifying statement he made without any subtlety?" article, there are apparently about as many who are so far up their own asses that they actually thought of the same question.

Joe might be too compromising to risk that "optic", but throwing him in jail is justice.

All he had to do to get re-elected was keep his head down, say a few nice things once in a while, and demonstrate the bare minimum of competence.

He couldn't do that. Because his ego is a planet-crushing black hole. And because he's literally so farking stupid he has no idea how farking stupid he is.

Agree, except one thing. This giant turd isn't gonna flush in two weeks when he loses. This one's gonna clog the line. Probably have to call Roto Rooter.

I've thought for a long time there will be a 2nd impeachment. He will go so berzerk, they'll have to impeach him to stop the vindictive damage he will try to do over 70 days. It will be Republicans' best chance to rehabilitate themselves in just a few days, after many years of betrayal. And it might work.

Good thing our culture and media doesn't pour gasoline on the fire in these circumstances. Thankfully watching a celebrity like Kanye who is off his meds and unhinged, isn't fed more and more attention. Or when a mass shooting happens, you don't see their name and picture running 24/7 in the news. I mean, what damage could be done by feeding some narcissistic arsehole's ego by giving them access to platforms that would appeal to other deranged idiots?

Now if you excuse me, I have to go watch the president call into Fox and Friends.

By the way, Morning Joe...burn in hell. You helped create this monster.

PaulRB: Apparently they've found psychologists and psychiatrists who've just started paying attention?

Mental health professionals try very hard to stay out of saying anything, due to ethical concerns of misuse and of the stigma associated with things. So it takes a lot for them to speak out, and they are coaching their comments even when they do.

So the fact they're ringing the bell is IMO not "Oh my he's being irrational" it's "HIDE THE SHARP OBJECTS Y'ALL".

Someone who is already ill and erratic gets worse when cornered, when pushed to their limits, like he is now. Even without his own particular issues, stress makes everything worse, period--mental and physical. That is just a fact.

One of the linked articles talks about his scorched earth foreign policy, how he's putting intentional landmines for any future president. Assuming he's voted out, during the Lame Duck period he is going to burn it all down because if he can't have it no one can.

Elder abuse is what every enabler from his family on down to the lowest level staffer needs to be charged with, just for starters.  There's probably not one family in America that hasn't had an elderly relative that was this impaired, and yet these other families didn't exploit their relative like this cabal has.  Get everyone in America on board with punishing the abusers and even the GOP will jump on that train, seeing how they love punishment.  The Washington crowd won't realize they are in line as well for charges, until it's too late.

Meanwhile, toddler himself needs to be confined to an institution, penal with a hospital wing, preferably, just to protect him from himself.  Institutions can and will strap down someone as uncontrolled as this and suddenly, no more Twitter.  Hell, without this particular toddler, Twitter might shut down from lack of use.

2020-10-22 5:53:33 AM
Remember: he was doing all this same stuff in 2016.
Most of us knew he was unfit to serve then.
People hoped he would grow into the job, and would be humbled by the awesome responsibility of it.

Those people were wrong.

Hey remember this was the so-called President that had the trademark move "eschew all norms, rules, and traditions."

So I think he deserves to buck the traditional shield of redaction given to ex-presidents as well.  Let's see this jackass in court without his lickspittles to protect him.

2020-10-22 5:57:11 AM
While that's not ideal, his mental deficiency is one of the main things impeding him from imposing his full moral deficiency on the rest of us.

I wonder... do the Trump and Biden campaigns run any sort of internal exit polls on the millions who are voting early?  Is there any way they can crunch the numbers so far and come to some kind of conclusion like "too close to call" or "holy fark, it's a landslide?"

Eh.

Either way, I am cocooning myself on Election Night, which I have off.  I'm going to work on my side hustle, and maybe watch a Star Wars trilogy.  I'm not allowing anything into my bubble, not going to waste the entire night hanging on every breaking news headline, as I've done before.  I'lll wait for my best friend to text "this sucks" or "Woo!!!!" and only then will I have any kind of clue what's happening.

Just as Election Day has really been Election Month, I'm planning to shelter in place from next week until the rioting stops. Fortunately, circumstances have lined up, and I have a month of food stored up.

It's the narcissism. Narcissists train the people around them to behave the way they want and to give them a constant supply of fuel (praise).

The training is no longer working, he's being criticized, he can't make the pandemic go away and worst of all, he's being held responsible and he can't make people stop holding him responsible. This is why he's demanding rallies, first it was every day, now he wants five a day. He needs the fuel and he needs to escape from being held responsible.

This is why the Lesley Stahl interview set him off so badly. She clearly did not behave as he has trained the people around him to behave. She called him on his BS and pressed him to answer the question rather than accepting whatever he said and moving on. This is an OUTRAGE, how DARE she question him, he's FURIOUS that she stood up to him.

Nothing is ever a narcissist's fault and they can do Simone Biles level mental gymnastics to avoid blame or responsibly. He's desperately casting around for ways to deflect blame and responsibility and get back to everyone behaving the way he trained them to behave.

When you have this dynamic in families, everyone will focus on keeping the narcissist happy, letting them say what they want, giving in to their demands, accepting abuse, anything to keep the narcissist happy. When someone stands up to the narcissist and sets boundaries, all he'll breaks loose. The narcissist goes on an angry rampage, demanding that everyone attack the boundary setter. They comply, they've been well trained and everything was fine until the boundary setter had to start trouble by not accepting abuse. The narcissist blames the boundary setter and demands that the rest do so and they always comply. "You have to do what s/he says, that's just the was s/he is" they tell the boundary setter. Go along and accept the abuse so we can have peace.

Sorry, contrary day.

No he isn't, he is simply modifying his rhetoric to engage the increasingly unstable and angry Republican base.

Remember, he's a shiatty actor, so his attempts at mocking humor and calls for his enemies to be locked up are merely pandering to them.

Vote them out.

What's Salon doing publishing that rant. So silly. It's just the normal list of grievances about Trump behavior. But Now With Psychologists!

Also, I hope it doesn't send the doctors over the edge when they realize that they have two more months to go after the next two weeks.

I do think there has been a change but it isn't so much a mental decline as something else.

The thing is, he's a liar. And he has to lie to protect his earlier lies. And that's a trap. He has to keep contorting reality further with each lie to cover for prior lies. And like many liars, he struggles to keep track of all his lies thus interrupting his attempted train of thought. To cope with this, he is avoiding more things and tries to keep it simple with fewer big lies, lock her up, build the wall, covid is about to go away.

So ultimately it's about painting yourself in a corner with lies.

tfa included the phrase "hypomanic hypersexuality" (re him at a rally speaking about kissing the men, the women)

Hypersexuality can be caused by dementia in a number of ways, including disinhibition due to organic disease, misreading of social cues, understimulation, the persistence of learned sexual behaviour after other behaviours have been lost, and the side-effects of the drugs used to treat dementia.

I now also sort of want female reporters to do the work of the press and corner him - one really good hypomanic hypersexual episode - followed by tweets blaming said reporters - all the better to further tank his numbers with those urban housewives would be just fine.

This. I imagine he's flailing and in distress, and surrounded by sycophants too scared/cowed to offer salient advice (not that he'd follow it). He's at the limits of his cognitive abilities, vocabulary, and ideas.

His desperation is enjoyable to watch, but his chances still aren't mortally wounded, despite him a shooting himself in the foot with every tweet and bowl of word salad vomited from his fetid pie hole.
