I seem to remember a candidate who was under federal investigation during the election, with multiple people getting arrested and convicted. And it wasn't Hillary.

After he was fired, there was a crowd source go fund me for his legal fees that made so much money in just a few days, he had to shut it down because it was more than he need for the litigation.  A dishonest person would have let it accumulate more and more money.

I'm going to start a gofundme for Comey.  Specifically I want to give him the Clockwork Orange treatment where that sanctimonious SOB is strapped in a chair with his eyelids propped open where he's forced to watch a reel of all of the horrors that he unleashed over the last four years, with special emphasis on what he did to law enforcement and his beloved FBI, because of his decision to go public with Hilldawg's emails just days before the election. His head is then shaved and he's marched back naked to his house with Rod Rosenstein clanging a bell behind him saying, "Shame.  Shame."

The money I raise will go toward making potato salad for all of us.

Hopefully Christopher Wray has the strength to resist the pressure. This is why Trump normally picks such corrupted people, he wants to be able to bribe and blackmail them into doing literally anything he needs.

If you re-elect Trump, the damage he has done to the international standing of the US goes from "probably fixable in a decade or so" to "permanent".

I first came on this NOT BY TWITTER'S DRIVE THRU SERVICE, but the Daily Beast.

And the Reporter at Large, Barbie Latza Nadeau, which reads like an anagram, conflates what Comey did and what Wray could be pressured by Barr to do.

A Saturday Night massacre is the Nadeau's road-map, and Trump's not a student of history that I can tell.

I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong, but Comey acted on his on. He hadn't relied on the AG to decide.

There seems to be a margin of support for Wray in this thread...along with Comey, he fled a stinking mess in 2005, made bank in private enterprise, and wormed his way back in.

2020-10-22 7:32:56 AM
Like the vagary of the headline, Comey reopening the Clinton case wasn't about Hillary, but Anthony Weiner, whose wife was on Hilldog's staff.

But they've already investigated the Bidens and found nothing. And that's saying something considering Joe's Trans Am has been Parker in D.C. for five decades.

Yep, and the that trail didn't start with Trump.  The public started to look stupid even before that.  It even started before this:

You're assuming he actually had the virus.   The sight of a maskless, supposedly covid infected press secretary at the Erie rally madde me even more suspicious that neither he, Melanie nor any WH staff (with the possble exception of Hope Hicks) ever had the virus, it was all just a ploy to gain sympathy and downplay the seriousness of a covid infection.  I mean, we're supposed to take the word of  a Doctor who also tells us that Drumpf weighs 230 pounds?

Nobody cares about this outside of the Murdoch media circle jerk.  It's just a Post, Fox, and WSJ "story".  It's gotten so little traction.  The Republicans sought to create a closed media loop in which they controlled the narrative by pushing out nonbelievers and unfaithful ideas, but it left them unable to reach anyone outside of the cult.

Of course he farking had it, and like most people who get it, he survived it. The White House is a plaguepit that doesn't even make the most basic attempt at prevention. And he doesn't want sympathy, he wants praise, obedience and adulation.

A great book to read during this time for those who already haven't is The Nazi Seizure of Power by William Sheridan Allen.  It looks at how Nazism took hold in one town and the main vector was by infecting the business networks.  Shopkeepers and businessmen took Nazism up because they had to in order to continue to have the business contacts and continue their businesses.  Most of it in that town was a really kind of boring; no one really did it there because of hatred of anything.  The US is even worse now when it comes to that type of network.  It hasn't quite taken hold in the same way in here, but there are definitely people at the top of the corporate world that are absolutely fine with Trump because he has removed burdens they are SUPPOSED to have, like taxes and regulations that are there to try to prevent abuse of corporate power.

Trump is so obvious and transparent. Everyone knows it's fake, everyone knows why Trump is trying to orchestrate this. In October 2016, Comey wasn't "told" by POTUS to make a statement.
