Good god, you farking idiots...you're going to make this very difficult for everybody else to buy. People who live with terrible allergies need benadryl. People suffering from terrible insomnia need benadryl. People who are allergic to poison ivy, insects, mold etc, but need to be around those things for one reason or another need benadryl. It's cheap and easy, and it works. Don't fark this up, you moronic little shiats.

Buy some farking shrooms. You'll be much better off and you'll have a good time.

I have a script for Hydroxyzine, which is like Benadryl x 10. I use it fir hives, anxiety & to sleep. Nothing about it would ever make me want to try it for kicks.

Overdoing Diphenhydramine is not something that is pleasant

I take, daily, Diphenhydramine to help with allergies.

Its just not a good feeling when you take too much.

They take it because it's currently legal and OTC. MJ isn't yet legal anywhere, and though mostly fairly available to kids these days, the pandemic makes it so that it's a lot harder for kids to get high. This is definitely a drug for those with diminished opportunities. Imagine a safe set of drugs that were readily available for all...

On the contrary. Their sinuses are very clear.

I don't get it. I am one of those freakish people for whom Diphenhydramine keeps me WIDE AWAKE. It ruins my concentration and focus and makes me drowsy, then makes it impossible for me to sleep. I pretty much gave up on it after nearly 50 years of use. I heard that was probably a good idea anyway and that this shiat is very bad for the brain.

Wasn't there news in the past 5 years where research had linked heavy use of diphenhydramine to cognitive decline and senility?

The original Italian version of Scent of a Woman is much, much, much better.

Also, Benadryl is great as a sleep aid. With 25-50mg, you get vivid dreams. Not as good as tripping but kinda neat.

Same here. I rarely take it any more (I use topical ointments for insect bites). Daily nasocort and zyrtec keep my other allergies in check.

I was on Zyrtec, I moved over to Xyzal, which is made the same company. The way it was explained to me is that essentially they made Zyrtec with 2 active ingredients (called cetirizine), and through studies they find one of them did most the work and the other has just of the side effects. So Xyzal (levocetirizine) is just the active part with lower side effects.

Anywho, works for me and I think I sleep better, and have lessened dry mouth. YMMV.

Benadryl would only put me to sleep about 50% of the time. It would also make me dissociate, and it gave me the spins. When it did make me sleep, I'd wake up feeling really shiatty.

Now, gabapentin and trazodone? That shiat reliably knocks me out.

This isn't a new thing.  I had an acquaintance in high school that would down a whole box of Benadryl when he couldn't get his hands on any other drugs, and this was over 20 years ago.

not a new thing, but a thing that's seeing a spike because of the conditions

No, but I've been considering putting The French Lieutenant's Woman and other racy literature into those lil-libraries that people in my neighborhood have put up in their front yards.

Be careful with Dyphenhydramine.  It can disrupt acetylcholine production, affecting memory, and may lead to early dementia. Don't trust me on this, check it out.

The absolute best nights' sleep I have ever had in my life was on Gabapentin and I would KILL for a refill. I used them *very* sparingly for the times when I absolutely had to get a good night's sleep, like before a big business trip. That shiat is amazeballs, except for the kidney damage and crippling depression when I quit. It took me a while to learn how to manage that little issue.

Thanks, I will definitely have to give it another go then with the new formula; if I take Zyrtec for more than a couple of days it makes me psychotic. I have the same problem with every single antihistamine with the exception of diphenydramine and whatever Claritin is. I strongly suspect that if I ever upped the dose of either of those drugs then psychosis would follow. I have a love-hate relationship with Claritin as it is because it kinda-sorta works, but it also keeps me awake, but it does dick squat for animal allergies (unlike Zyrtec or Benadryl) and nothing for hives.
