Is this why Trump stormed off in the middle of being interviewed today and completely skipped a later joint interview with Pence?

$50 means his campaign can buy an ad in Best Dakota.

IDGAF - Jones Day is still working to protect Trump, when they could've easily ditched that particular orange client for unethical behavior up the yinger.

To be fair, he's gonna NEED their services a lot more if he loses, and they can make for damn sure he pays them up front. He stays in office, he's going to use the DOJ as his personal team.

I think it's more of a schadenfreude thing. the fact that even his own law firm is overwhelmingly supporting Biden.

I'm saying that it shouldn't qualify as schadenfreude.  That $89,950k differential changes nothing.  Jones Day has made a mint off of defending one of the worst human beings in our nation's history.

/i mean... assuming they've been paid ( ._.)

Well, there's probably a better chance of them getting paid if he's in office than not, because if nothing else the GOP would force the taxpayers to cover the tab. So voting against him with their dollars when he doesn't pay anyone else sends a signal.

Was there something specific you disagreed with, or do you just not like what they said?  Reuters and the AP are as close as you'll get to actual straight news in the US.

I'm not being hyperbolic.

Trump's base is a cult that will need de-programming.  De-programming that will never happen, to be sure.

In all probability, he's going to lose this election.  When that happens, he's going to run with a Scorched Earth plan that will include, but is not limited to:

1.  Rallies.  Rallies which will have attendance through the roof.  Rallies which will perpetuate conspiracy theories about election illegitimacy.  Foxnews will run backup on this, as usual.

2.  Non-stop sabotaging of any and all normal methods of transfer of power.  He'll instruct his team to do every possible petty thing imaginable to make the White House a nuisance for the next occupant, right down to gluing desk drawers shut.

3.  Twitter incitement of violence.  More than usual.  He'll go from stochastic terrorism to downright terrorist threats to 'RETAKE YOUR COUNTRY!'.

---

I'm telling you now.  November to January is going to be ugly and brutal in ways we probably can't conceive of.

I learned early on that the first rule of criminal defense law is: get paid first.  So I'm sure that's something that law firms will insist upon once Trump becomes simply another client under indictment.

/ The first rule of civil law: the bank always wins.
// The first rule of personal injury law: never sue poor people.
/// The first rule of slashies: always three.

This isn't about contributions from Jones Day, but individual donations from lawyers that work for Jones Day. This is basically the lawyers working for the firm saying they don't approve of their boss's decision.

Pats_Cloth_Coat: Trump is the only idiot to pay more to hide his taxes than he paid in taxes

That depends on how much tax he avoided.  From an accounting perspective it makes sense to pay $5,000,000 to avoid $5,000,001 in taxes.  You're a dollar richer even if you do wind up paying $750 instead of $5,000,751.

Trump pulling a Sideshow Bob would be par for the course for conservatives. 10 years ago Fox News was relentlessly covering the "Ground Zero Mosque" and even mentioned that one of it's backers was a Saudi Prince that funded radical madrassas all over the world. Fox failed to mention that the prince in question, Al-Waleed bin Talal, was the second largest shareholder of Fox News.

Life is not a game, I am so farking over how the leaders of the United States of America seem to think how life works.

tRump is a disgusting (was going to say pig, but I no longer think that is the right term, pigs have shown themselves to be intelligent and (alas) tasty.)  2 weeks, I only have to give about two weeks.

Sadly my dreams are not true, because the US has a strange system where they imagined that all the people being elected where kind of the same, so once someone wins, there is no issue with the previous c*nt hanging around and making things lawful for the next couple of months.
lov
You do all realise that this is like your lover sleeping in the same bed with her ex for a few month, whilst she claims nothing wrong is going on.
