I cringe at headlines like that. They can't say titanium dioxide. Noooo. They must call it white paint because that's what it is, right? It's not like we haven't already found infinite uses for it. Nope. It's paint. Readers can't possibly understand something from grade 8 chemistry.

It's more likely than you think??

Analog devices?  I'm fairly sure nobody is doing ML and DSP work with analog.  It is certainly possible (although forget about the "brickwall filters" you can do with digital, although realtime filters should be superior), and I don't think Google has disclosed their ML architecture, but I'm fairly sure it is digital.
/yes, I know what "DSP" stands for
//but the foundations are based on analog signal processing

And here I've been, eating paint chips like a dummy.  I never thought to put some in my computer to make it go faster.

Agreed as far as the shortcomings in the headline are concerned.

But I find the actual article interesting.  I'm curious as to how this plays out.

This, they may as well start saying "chemical found in your taps" every time they talk about water.

They didn't find the chemical in paint, the chemical can be found in paint, but paint has farking dick to do with their discovery.
