Intense, fast talking conversations while walking to the next meeting are a lot harder to pull off in the written form.

Meh.  During its time there was still some examples of that going on.  At least during the nineties.

I actually kind of like it for showing basically how the sausage is made.  I'm not sure the conversations are that accurate but seems like the wheeling and dealing could be.  Rather interesting.

Pretty sure TWW's first episode was a good 5 yrs after Newt went Scorched Earth. It was already fantasy by then.

Yes.  I guess pre 1994 wheeling and dealing.  Maybe historical fiction, or alternate timeline fiction.
