Everymeal?  That's deep into "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" territory.

can only hope his work gets published (or if some already did, I really need to know!)

and I am 100% fine with how often this story comes up every year or two - I even feel like I saw it earlier this year - ah, here:

good for him. i guess that made him happy.

to me it seems like a HUGE navel-gazing waste of time, and i find the style and colors of the work he produced very unappetizing (despite loving the kind of food he was drawing), but whatever, after today in this thread i'll never look at it again.

the real question is did this neurotic obsession with what he ate make him any more or less physically healthy?

Does posting on fark make you any better than this guy? You'd be leagues better if you didn't breathe through your mouth and didn't change your entire appetite for a cultures foods just from a picture.

I saw the author's surname and was expecting Warhol-like repetitive drawings of a single kind of not-very-Japanese food.

oh it's you! i clicked your profile once before! the guy who hates "his generation" for being all talk and no action and DEMANDS action. but non-violent non-pitchforky action, but also thinks marches and protests are worthless wastes of time.

look, the Weenerser thinks this dude's hobby makes him as crazy as mr. torrance in the shining, i don't see you calling that poster a mouth breather.

i just said i don't like the art work. i didn't say the artist is a bad dude.

and i DO think taking the time to do a detailed sketch of every damn thing you've ingested for 30 whole years is a waste of time. and i think it's obsessive. but i'm genuinely glad the dude seems to have found joy in it.

however, just think of all of the good he could have done for the world had he spent all of that time on something relevant to other people! probably could have cured cancer and prevented trumpism!

i kid, for all we know he would have used that time to develop a reality show and become the trump of japan 😉

He was a chef, now he's bed ridden. His work sells for between $500 and $3000.
I like his style. I like his subject matter. He has a very good eye.
Five stars. Would buy again.
