The question for me is if we see Labour/Liberal Democrats take power will they put forth a NEW referendum to attempt rejoining the EU?

Follow-up: how loud do you think the laughter in response would be?

/ Honestly contemplating moving to the UK in 2-3 years time.

The land of my fathers is calling to me
And I sit in the canyon with my back to the sea
There's a blood red dragon on a field of green
Calling me back, back to the Black Hills again
Ooh, ooh, Billy come home

Naw. That's just a smokescreen. He's really leaving because £150,000/year is a paltry sum yo pay the leader of the grea... OK, I can't say that with a straight face.

You're right. He pushed it across the goal line and now he's going to get out before he's kicked out, praying all the while memories will be short enough for him to shift the blame later in an attempt to grift more money.

Wasn't the big reason for Brexit the nationalistic drive of conservatives wanting to basically "Make Britain Great Again?"

I mean, it seems oddly coincidental that nationalist movements took such sudden, jarring movement on both sides of the pond so chronologically close.

It's won't be laughter, it will be contempt.  The UK already had the best deal of any EU member state, you think the EU is going to offer an even better deal for them to come back?   If the EU allows the UK to rejoin it won't be for a generation, and it won't be the sweet deal the UK had when they left.

And there it is, the thread done. Many years ago the UK negotiated the sweetest deal ever to join the UK. Now fast forward a few decades and they have torn up the deal declared themselves still economically relevant and demand a better deal to leave the EU.

You are both right you know.

Boris Johnson was born and raised in New York City, just as much as Donald The Fugly Cygnet.

I have never understood the weird American practice of cutting your food, then switching your fork to the other hand.  It's awkward, loud, and a baffling waste of time. I hold my fork with my left and cut with my right--that's probably backwards for some people, but I'm a lefty, so.  I don't understand why people learn to cut AND hold a fork with the same hand.  Is it because my mother was raised by Portuguese immigrants?  It definitely seems more "European" not to switch hands.

All BS of course. But... give it a minute.

Of course no nations wants to admit that there was interference, because that would invite even more. This said, everyone knows already so they might as well come out.
Once the opposition gets the reigns, they will bring it out, or tell Boris to get a hike to Siberia.

Vlad had his hand in this, but Murdoch is the one that set the stage for this. He once said something like he wanted the UK to leave the EU cause no one in Belgium listens to him, but Downing Street hangs on to every word he says.

I realize it has ramifications for the good citizens of the rest of the EU, but at this point I'd really like the EU to just slam the door on the UK and be done with it. UK can get what they asked for deserve and within a decade come crawling back begging for readmission.

This is just about the most perfect summary of why Brexit was only for the dain bramaged.

Anyone in the UK with even the tiniest amount of sense has used the past few years to get a second passport somewhere else in Europe, knowing there's no way to untangle the debacle.

I will laugh so hard (but in a sad kind of way) if one long term outcome of this whole Brexit/Make Britain Great Again movement is for Scotland to do the diplomatic equivalent of "yeah, I don't really know that guy" and get independence passed, causing England to become the meat in an EU sandwich between Scotland and Ireland.  You get a border, and you get a border, everybody gets a border!

My feeling is that Scotland is waiting to see how things shake out. Shortly thereafter, a second referendum and they're gone.

It depends if the EU would let them in immediately.  The only thing worse for Scotland than leaving the EU with the UK would be leaving the UK and not being in the EU either.

If the EU would make them jump through a bunch of hoops, I think their best option might be to join Ireland as part of a united republic. That would really get up the noses of the English, and get them back into the EU easily!

Take a Dijiorno three-meat pizza.
Cook it for 3/4 the cooking time.
Remove from oven.
Add crumbled sausage, a package of finely-shredded five cheese blend, and pepperoni atop that
Return to oven for rest of cooking time or until cheese has completely melted.
Remove, let stand a couple of minutes, slice, and enjoy.

I never have a Dijiorno any other way. Absolutely delicious.
