Fringe rednecker here... Its really bad when people destroy or deface other people's property due to political differences...

SuburbanCowboy: I hear so many people saying they don't think Biden has that much support because they don't see as many Biden signs as they see Trump signs.

People are afraid to put out Biden signs because they know that Trump supporters are going to target them like this.

That's the actual silent majority.

It's weird to me that Trumpists loudly screech about being a silent majority while proclaiming victory based on their own..."volume". Never once considering Biden may have support they can't see.

It's a shocking lack of awareness.

Yeeeup.

Nothing says "I'm privileged" like having zero idea that others' lives are actually at stake.

KingOfTown: Exile On Beale Street: I had a guy knock on my door for Biden. Asked if he could put a sign in my yard. I assured him that my wife and I were voting straight blue, but I didn't want to invite vandalism. My wife said "That was smart. I wouldn't have thought of that."  I prefer to fly under the radar. It's why I cut my hair short now, have no visible tattoos, (Brian Setzer Rule: No neck, no hands. Nothing a judge in court can see with long sleeves.) and don't put 420, WP, Deadhead etc...stickers on my car. When you blend in at work, they let their guard down and assume you're deplorable as well. I just smile and nod while biting my tongue in half. Someone needs to do a spoof of Undercover Boss but call it Deplorable Employees.

Imagine living your life so scared of being yourself that you pretend to be a drone to fit in. 'Murica.

And the question becomes, if you fit in too well with who you pretend to be, are you who you think you are?

Most of the damage was caused by a) looters not protesters and b) rightwingers trying to cause trouble.

Oh and c) the police.

That's what the Republicans / domestic terrorists want you to think.

Unscratchable_Itch: In 2012 my wife got an Obama / Biden sign to put in our yard. In 2016 she wanted to get a Clinton / Kaine sign but was afraid someone would ruin or take it - there are a lot of signs for Republicans on our street. This year I asked her if she wanted to get a Biden / Harris sign and she said she didn't want someone to vandalize our property, harass us, or shoot us. I asked if she was serious about the shooting part and she just shrugged and said, "I dunno, I guess so."  This is America now, and the reason why is clear.

The Republicans / domestic terrorists are winning.

This - This right here is a life I lived for 30+ years. I worked at a coal company and in big oil. It is literally a requirement to get ahead. I've spent my entire life blending in, an extremely liberal atheist putting up with evangelical republicans all around me before I finally, FINALLY moved. I have no explanation for why i didn't move when I turned 18 other than comfort and familiarity. I think you would find that many, many people hate their lives and play this blend-in game and never become their true selves. And this is just religion and politics - I cannot imagine what someone Gay or Trans feels which, to be blunt, is a feeling of empathy that most republican evangelicals I've met are absolutely unable to grasp.

When I was in my pre-teen's... 4th/5th grade in the early 90's, I discovered a punk section at a local owned music shop and I saw this album and it's the first one I ever remember buying with my own money. I remember because I rode my bike back to the store to get it because I didn't want my mom to see it. At that age I had experienced some pretty horrific treatment in southern baptist churches because I asked "why" constantly, and I already knew I didn't believe what they did. I had never heard of the band. I had never heard the music. But the album cover was the first time in my life I can recall seeing something and relating to it that strongly and viscerally.

Wife and I put a Biden/Harris sign on the property we own that her mother lives on. We came back three hours later and it was gone. I know it was my MIL. My wife knows it was her, too, but we got a smirky "I have no idea what happened to it" from the woman that sits on her ass all goddamn day on her overstuffed chair eating junk food looking out the window (directly at where the sign was) and watching Law & Order: SVU.

So, sure, it's totally not your neighbors/family/"nice Republicans" (whoever the fark they're supposed to be). 🙄

Maybe time to replace the political sign with one from a realtor? Don't forget to smirk!

So, you agree with Biden, Harris, and a large number of Democratic Governors who have explicitly condemned violence and looting?

Trump came to Michigan yesterday to chant "Lock Her Up" to a crowd that was thrilled that a group of terrorist had planned to kidnap and execute Governor Whitmer.

Depends on the type of paint they used and how long it's sat. If it's reacted chemically or not. But a little dollar store krylon isn't going to take much buffing to get off a newer car's paint job.

What do y'all Farkers think about Employers posting political signs on company property?

I see it all the time around here.  I know they have the right to do it, but I think it would create a hostile work environment.   Because unless you've been using some blatantly discriminatory hiring practices, not all of your employees are going to be of one party.

Unless you are in the place that skews VERY heavily red or blue, I think it's a bad business decision.

Now I don't bring up politics when I'm shopping for goods or services.  But if you put a big Trump sign on your property, hard pass.

It's EVERYWHERE in western WI. Every single construction/farming equipment/pick-your-overrepresented-by-rednecks-profession business.

A number of years ago, a local ice cream shop put up a massive (seriously MASSIVE) sign for a republican (i think it might have been gov candidate?). I was surprised- I live in an extremely liberal area in an extremely democratic leaning state (MD). Like, why alienate your customers like that?
It wasn't like a "i support this person" sign, it was massive enough to be a "f u" sign.
Wasn't surprised to see it went out of business the following year.

I think we're more alike than you think. I grew my hair out and played in rock & roll bands and all the debauchery that ensued, but then I had to face reality and grow up, get a real job, get married, face reality. I think a lot of grown ass responsible Farkers will agree with me.

Political signs to show support have been used forever to show support (quick google for The US tags it from the 1820s), and there should be no fear of repercussions in practicing free speech.  Downplaying the significance here is being complacent with voter intimidation.

A new car has clear coat over the paint.  A good detailer can remove paint with a clay bar if they catch it in time. The cheap way is to hit it with a buffer and compound which removed clear coat.  You don't want that.

The words you are looking for are "cotton fields", and these are people who are quite explicit that said acts are the sum total of their culture and heritage.  This woman is either a lying Klannie or so farkwit dumb she has to have "Breathe In, Breathe Out" tattooed on the inside of her eyelids not to asphyxiate while sleeping.

Given the paint color, I suspect a utility worker in her neighborhood would have lots of cans handy as part of their job. My sidewalk and yard were marked up with the same color a couple weeks ago to  indicate underground water, fios and electrical lines.

Anyone who's unashamed to say they're a Trump supporter is, by definition, a fringe type. They're extremists, all of them.

Smock Pot: All my political stickers are on a small file cabinet in my home. Cops are hard-line right and stickers tick their asshole meter. They can fark up your life any time they want. Not gonna poke that pig.

I've always thought all black folks should put blue lives matter stickers on their cars. Cops, at the very least, would be slightly less likely to murder them.

/I said slightly.

Zombies ate my neighbors: KingOfTown: Exile On Beale Street: I had a guy knock on my door for Biden.

'Murica.

At that age I had experienced some pretty horrific treatment in southern baptist churches because I asked " ...

One of their best albums I think, if a bit drawn out. Got to set them play it in its entirety in 2018 at Punk in Drublic Richmond. Great show.

"I live in a sea of loneliness," she said.

As someone currently living in a red state, I can relate to this.

Need to get back to California.
