It was very kind of the body shop owner to fix her car for free.

I didn't know you could remove it once it had been painted on. I guess that is why he owns a body shop and I don't.

Oh, the people who did it are scumbags.

I don't think it's fringe rednecks- 'Trump' is spelled correctly.

ah, just the average everyday supporters of the "LAW AND ORDER" PRESIDENT hard at work.

trumpers are made in trump's image.

She's lived within 2 miles of her home her entire life, she said, and she knows, "Most people in Alabama are Republicans."
"I live in a sea of loneliness," she said
.

I drove over the Lookout Mountain range about six weeks ago to Huntsville and Decatur, Alabama for work. Little pond of blue in Mentone - All Biden/Harris and Doug Jones signs. They can probably relate.

I'm guessing some turpentine solvent that is safe for cars. Whatever that is.

Good luck with that.

Why does this feel like the same vibe as when they interview the neighbors of serial killers and they always say "He seemed like such a nice man, we're such a quiet and caring community, how could this happen here".

Being angry that slavery isn't a thing, is being angry that serial killing isn't a respectable hobby anymore.

It's a state fulla wannabe serial killers and rapists, that's why they love Trump.

He represents them.

If I were going to troll Trump supporters, I'd do it in a way that doesn't involve vandalism.  Like, go around town obscuring Trump signs with Biden signs.  Or appending "Dump" on the tops of Trump signs.

My neighborhood is recovering from a windstorm thay knocked down a bunch of trees recently. Someone drove around town and changed all the signs advertising "stump removal" so they read "Trump removal"

I hear so many people saying they don't think Biden has that much support because they don't see as many Biden signs as they see Trump signs.

People are afraid to put out Biden signs because they know that Trump supporters are going to target them like this.

That's the actual silent majority.

We had someone keep ripping my wife's sign apart.
Neighbor down the way had theirs stolen a few times. They just keep buying another 2 Biden signs each time one gets lifted.
The neighbor across from them was fearful to put his Trump sign out.

Good news though, it's brought us together as a neighborhood and we all watch out for each other.

Take that 2020.

During the Obama years, it was surprising how many people vandalized their own property with spray paint to register their displeasure.

Nothing says 'classy' like 8 foot high 'One Big Ass Mistake America' in marking paint on your own farking roof.

Lacquer thinner and microfiber towel.  Wipes right off, no matter how long it has been on there.  Works for tree sap as well.

/ Spent many years at a body shop/detail shop for a dealership.

probably used a clay bar it. the paint does not stick well to clear coat they clay bar will usually get it off and not damage the clear coat. The easiest method is using gasoline but that is less than idea for the obvious reason and that it can damage the clear coat.

Snatch Bandergrip: Your neighbors would put you on trains to concentration camps and they wouldn't hesitate.

I'm sure they would be friendly, helpful and polite right up until the night they stand by watching as their unwanted neighbors are hustled by uniformed thugs into a vehicle and taken to a trailhead for transport to a "detainment facility" for eventual disposal.  Then they'll be friendly, helpful and polite to whoever ends up living in their former home, and will probably regale them with outrageous stories about the "commies" who used to live there.

"fringe" Republicans like Q Anon, Trumpers, Proud Boys, Bugaloo, KKK, 3 Percenters, Oath Keepers, anti-science movement, United Constitutional Patriots, Alliance Defending Freedom, American Freedom Party, Aryan Brotherhood, FOAK, National Socialist Movement, Patriot Front, Westboro Baptist Church...

I guess my point is that with the number of extreme and violent groups within the Republican party it's sometimes difficult to see the forest for the racist trees.

I had a guy knock on my door for Biden. Asked if he could put a sign in my yard. I assured him that my wife and I were voting straight blue, but I didn't want to invite vandalism. My wife said "That was smart. I wouldn't have thought of that."  I prefer to fly under the radar. It's why I cut my hair short now, have no visible tattoos, (Brian Setzer Rule: No neck, no hands. Nothing a judge in court can see with long sleeves.) and don't put 420, WP, Deadhead etc...stickers on my car. When you blend in at work, they let their guard down and assume you're deplorable as well. I just smile and nod while biting my tongue in half. Someone needs to do a spoof of Undercover Boss but call it Deplorable Employees.

My anecdote:

I have a Biden sign in my front yard.  I'll be damned if hooligans like the ones in this article will stop me from displaying it.

And even in my semi-rural county, I've noticed a slight majority of signs are for Biden - maybe around 55%, which means a lot here in Red America.

However, several of the Trump signs are very large (the kind that require a truck to transport), so I guess that means the display of support evens out between the candidates.

Back in the day, someone torched my Obama signs both elections.
It was my neighbor.

<csb>

Wife and I put a Biden/Harris sign on the property we own that her mother lives on. We came back three hours later and it was gone. I know it was my MIL. My wife knows it was her, too, but we got a smirky "I have no idea what happened to it" from the woman that sits on her ass all goddamn day on her overstuffed chair eating junk food looking out the window (directly at where the sign was) and watching Law & Order: SVU.

So, sure, it's totally not your neighbors/family/"nice Republicans" (whoever the fark they're supposed to be). 🙄

I remember in 2004, some people locally told me they didn't want to put John Kerry stickers permanently on their cars because they thought they might get fired from their jobs for it.

Oh, that brings up something I thought about the other day.

What do y'all Farkers think about Employers posting political signs on company property?

I see it all the time around here.  I know they have the right to do it, but I think it would create a hostile work environment.   Because unless you've been using some blatantly discriminatory hiring practices, not all of your employees are going to be of one party.

I'm finding there are a whole lot of "nice republicans" who, as it turns out, are quite giddy at the prospect of marching their political opponents off to a death camps. They've let the veil slip long enough to see who they really are. Don't ever forget who they are.

I don't see it much around here, unless it's VERY small company.

In more rural parts of Missouri, I've seen where the local Denny's has about a dozen different yard signs for all the local Republican candidates.

I smile when I see a Biden sign here in my sleepy little town in Florida. It's either courage or, well, you know.  Either way, I don't know what the point is. What does putting a sign on your lawn accomplish?  Seems to just be asking for trouble.

At a major intersection near my home there are no trump signs.  There are however, Vote to be free, Vote GOP signs.  I wonder why?

2020-10-18 8:20:49 AM
In 2012 my wife got an Obama / Biden sign to put in our yard. In 2016 she wanted to get a Clinton / Kaine sign but was afraid someone would ruin or take it - there are a lot of signs for Republicans on our street. This year I asked her if she wanted to get a Biden / Harris sign and she said she didn't want someone to vandalize our property, harass us, or shoot us. I asked if she was serious about the shooting part and she just shrugged and said, "I dunno, I guess so."  This is America now, and the reason why is clear.

I've had some light polite discussion with my new neighbor about the election scene. Terribly misinformed individual Ken Bone incarnate. I can understand getting immersed in your work and ignoring all else but g'damn this is critical to your life. Ignorance to objective reality seems to be a choice some take
/Riden with Biden

Maybe your neighbor wouldn't. But his drinking buddy who happed to have a can of spray paint in his work truck just might.
