That leads to Car-filled Tunnel Syndrome.

Holy shiat!  I would not have handled that well. There is no way to escape if you're in the middle of a tunnel that long and it fills with water.

Yup. That would probably have caused me to lose consciousness with the level of panic attack it would've induced.

Ya..That water would have way more poop in it than it did before it got into the tunnel...

Every time I drive through that tunnel I chant "I trust engineers" over and over in my head.

I don't know about that. Have you been to Baltimore Harbor?

I live in Baltimore. The color of the water would have at least let me know it wasn't the water from the harbor leaking in. The water in the photo is clear. The Inner Harbors water is brown and gross.

Several years ago we had an earthquake here that left cracks in my house and damaged the Washington Monument. I drove through the harbor tunnel the next day.

The old sewage plant is practically a tourist attraction.

Members of the Coast Guard Unit at nearby Curtis Bay refer to the Baltimore Horrible as "poop soup".

So accidentally starting to flood the tunnel is not a safety issue. They don't consider panicking drivers in a long tunnel a safety issue? That is horrible risk evaluation.

You don't understand what more means

way (adv.) - significantly, measurably, non-trivially
more (adj.) - an additional amount of
poop (noun) - excrement, feces

It wasn't the definition of "more" that I was joking about.

If I pissed in the Pacific Ocean, would it have way more water in it?

My parents always gave me a stern look when we were about to pass through the harbor tunnel. It may have been because I used to tell my little sisters that the tunnel was leaking just as we were entering it.

/ that was sooooo long ago
//  sisters still talk about it

Many of Texas finest legislators are imports from Maryland.  You can tell because they wear their cowboy boots with the sh*t on the inside.

Treating the public like Welsh miners.  You may be able to get away with that on the Philly Main Line but not in Bawlmer.

I've been stuck in traffic in that tunnel.  Being stuck sitting there looking at those crumbling walls really makes you considered your mortality and the need to properly fund and maintain our civil infrastructure.

If I saw water flowing, it would definitely be time to go home and change my pants.

I guess the best thing would be to stay in the car until the rush of water ended and then roll down the window and get out.  Start swimming to the nearest exit and hope there is air at the top of the tunnel.

When traffic inside that biatch grinds to a halt I've always imagined having a half bushel of dead crabs and a passenger to randomly surreptitiously chuck 'em so that they would land on the hood of stopped cars.

Nothing like knowing the Engineer in charge of maintaining that tunnel was hired because of who she/he knows.

But 'good enough for government work'.
