A full minute?  In what is potentially a fire?  Good luck with that.

Remember the nightclub fire years ago, where the band set off shiatty pyrotechnics and lit the building on fire?  And people waited for a minute or two because they thought it was part of the act?  And then they all realized 'oh shiat, we're about to roast' and then clogged the exits in panic and most of them died?

That's what's going to happen.
