How come all Republicans aren't in jail?   Too many federalist society judges in the world.

Federalist society = The KKK.

Every Republican senator during Trump's four years, should be imprisoned. They have betrayed their country, to a fool dictator.

Yeah, I am sure the tennis courts are unbearable during the day.

Thanks, Mike Pence.

We wouldn't even have proper laws against taking money from your campaign to pay for your own shiat w/o him. Before Mike Pence, there used to be a sort of gentlemen's agreement that you could take a bit for your own expenses. A lot of people running for local office had to quit their job or drastically cut their hours to do it. So they may need a little here or there to cover a few monthly bills during the campaign. Then, Mike Pence ran for congress. He decided to catch up on his late mortgage and car payments and pay off old parking tickets, pay for his golf club membership... He so abused the system that new regulations were put in place to address this exact same issue. Apparently the sheer immorality of the act itself was not a deterrent enough for someone who claims humanist laws aren't as good as Jesus.

FTFM. And by "fertilizer factories," I hope they mean "pig farms."

I'm just surprised there is a specific statute against conspiring to misuse campaign funds at a West Texas prison camp.

11 months?  Gosh, I certainly hope Mr. Hunter isn't too inconvenienced by such a harsh and onerous sentence.

How the fark do you fark up so badly that you get criminally convicted of embezzlement involving a system that's intentionally, arguably explicitly designed to let you just pick up all the money and walk off of it at the end of the campaign in every practical sense?

Like... I could "steal" millions of dollars if I was the name attached to a political campaign with no skill or effort and can't imagine any way to go about it that would break the law that isn't also so mind-numbingly stupid that you'd want to avoid it on principle anyway.  Just keep expenses low, don't make any promises to dispose of the money, after the campaign is over keep paying my own and my co-conspirators' salaries for managing the accounts while doing no actual work.  Done.  A high-school dropout could do this, because the system is intentionally designed to enable this.

I mean, Donald Trump thought he might successfully pull that shiat off, is how absurdly easy it is.

// Not necessarily designed that way for malicious reasons, though lobbyists getting to write the law does have a lot to do with it.  You can argue that there are perfectly legitimate reasons why requiring that remaining donations be refunded would be too burdensome, redirecting them would be a violation of free speech, etc.  I don't want to imply that there's not a transparently self-serving post hoc rationalization for blatant corruption logical reason for why things are this way.

Also, do editors exist anymore?

I somehow doubt if you, I, or a random young black man stole $200,000 - and stole money from veterans charities which Duncan Hunter did - that we'd be only doing 11 months.

Knight without armor: He hasn't been pardoned yet?

No, nor will he be. He's out of office and he wasn't personally a part of the Trump crime family - so he has no secrets to keep quiet. Trump has nothing to gain from it.

Summer, even in Texas, is 9 months away.
I'm just glad that another goddam socialist has been put away.  That's what the GOP is gonna go with, right?  He's a liberal socialist and therefore not a Republican?  And he got paid once by somebody who voted Democrat, probably.  Yeah, I know, it doesn't make any sense.  But who cares?

There's a lot of things that =KKK but we've been far too polite to say so. The NRA for one.
