If your game "dies" the second the developers stop shuffling the deck chairs, it was probably never alive to begin with.

I'm sure my work firewall won't let me see this, but I saw something earlier.

All 3 parts of Starcraft II have been out for years.. yeah, I think they can take some of those developers and make something new now.

Or help them finish WoW: Shadowlands.

I haven't played SC II lately.. when I do, it's usually an AI match.  Easy AI, I nearly always win.. then it bumps me up to Medium AI, and I nearly always lose.. only beat it twice ever at that level.  Best I can do is to heavily fortify my base, as a Terran, and if I can weather an attack without losing too much, try to counterattack before they recover.  And hope Protoss opponents don't drop a dozen Void Rays on me at once.

Your post reminds me of how I would shiatpost in the Battle.net Forums by writing a series of posts that represented the charging of a Void Ray laser.  I can't seem to find it, so I will instead post my masterpiece.

So far as I have seen, it's now essentially impossible to troll the Battle.net Forums in any interesting manner because they are protected by a thick layer of corporate shill fanboys, the kind of people who will tell you that we need to be patient with Warcraft III: Reforged because Warcraft III is in the Early Access phase.

Anyway, this post may seem off-topic, but StarCraft II is the videogame equivalent of the Star Wars prequels, I cried when Raynor stuck it in Kerrigan's pooper.  We need to give Blizzard the respect he deserves.

Now there's a brand and company I haven't cared about in a looooong time.

Blizzard is dead.

Fark Blizzard, I had played Diablo III some years ago, uninstalled the game from my computer since I really wan't playing that much.  About a year later Blizzard sends me an email telling me my character is banned because I was cheating.  Claim they did a thorough investigation which I'm not sure how since I wasn't actually playing the game at the time or even had it installed.  Bottom line is they didn't want to admit my account was hacked.  Morons.

call me when they make Starcraft 3 and it is half as good as StarCraft / Brood Wars.

i hated SC2.

So no more pushing cosmetics? Sounds like a good time to get in and play it. It's cheap and it won't nag you for money.

Which Diablo had the Amazons?  That's the one I enjoyed playing online.  Never could get the hang of online Starcraft, but I enjoyed single player.

Star Craft? Meh. If it's not Star Control II, I'm not interested.

I'm still logging onto each of my characters, but my enhancement shaman's skills really reset to a couple of years back.. quite different.

Blizzard needs a new game. It's milked it's old ones to death. But they don't seem like the kind of company that can pull it off anymore.

Really I used to play heroes of the storm and it "dying" was the best thing that ever happened to it
Most of the hardcore, asshole players moved on and I have a lot more fun games per bad game now when I get a chance to play

Wow, Starcraft 2 was the last game release I cared about. It was the first game I bought and watched my kids play instead of me.

I'm old. I played the original Starcraft in college.

They're still shuffling the deck chairs.  They're just not adding any more chairs.

New Fark feature. Any thread Mike posts in has the buttons automatically removed, since he'll get all of the votes anyway, and Drew is jealous of his PhD-level understanding of quality video games such as Dota 2 and Duke Nukem Forever

I would "smart" this but...

They're not.  I don't remember where I read/heard this but somebody summed up Blizzard perfectly with this quote:  Blizzard used to be all about creativity.  Now they're all about commodity.

... their first and second successful games were literally licensed games with the serial numbers roughly filed off at the last minute when the license was yanked, skinned over a simpler version of game mechanics invented by another company for a different game with some minor balance tweaks.

They were even blatantly stealing the IP from the same company both times.

When was this mythical time that Blizzard was "all about creativity"?  They've made all of one original game in their entire existence, and Overwatch was an idea that they only barely squeaked past the posts ahead of another studio making the same game with, what, a week to spare?

I'm not gonna say that Blizzard never made a good game or that they don't have plenty of things they're good at, but as far as creativity goes they've got all the originality of a high school student with wikipedia access panicking the night before a final essay is due in a class they've skipped all the reading and homework for.

Actually, that's unfairly maligning the creativity of the plagiarist high schooler, forget I made that comparison.

Release it to the Open Source community!

Never played it.

The game STILL costs $60 for the complete game. I little pricey for a 10 year old game.

PhD-level?

I can't wait for his State of the Union Address describing a Zerg Rush that spontaneously manifested out of a trans dimensional wormhole that ate all his Spaghetti-Os, so he ended up at the Waffle House scattered, smothered, and covered.

You mean how Warhammer became WarCraft really really fast?

That's D2, otherwise known as best diablo. Unfortunately, the public BattleNet sphere is now 66% item advertizing spam bots, 23% farming bots, 7% actual players, and 4% people who sit in the lobby asking for free sh*t.

I've always had a sneaking suspicion that if North Korea ever attacked, the South Korean Starcraft players would be drafted into service to command the ROK military Ender's Game style.

The Korean military already has top Starcraft players enlisted.  Some of the top GSL players are now coming back after their mandatory military service instead of retiring, and a few are better than they were before.
