Affleck was no Keaton but he was a decent Batman. Certainty better than that pussy vampire will be.

I dunno. I've seen him in... checks wikipedia ... four non-Twilight films, and thought he was good in all of them. I'm not saying his Batman will be good, but I think there's evidence that it could.

RP is a little weak on projecting strength, and cannot weigh more than a buck forty-five with a wet towel around his waist.

This guy must have one HELL of an agent.

I've never seen the twilight films. Anything I have seen Pattinson in, he's been a decent actor. Not sure he'll be right for the part of Batman, but maybe if he bulked up a little?

I think a lot of people will be surprised. Pattinson is a good actor. Yes, he played a terrible character in terrible movies, but he did a superb job playing that terrible character. He's great in other things, including his turn in Goblet of Fire.

From what little I've seen of this new film, it could be something special and he's going to make it interesting.

The rumor-mill is saying that Pattison's Batman is a disaster.

That has no bearing on the truth or lack thereof of the rumors about the 'The Batman'. In the end, I don't care as I have nothing invested, financially or emotionally, in that production.

Is James Cameron secretly involved somehow? No?
Then this is not that.

That's the first time that I've seen that trailer, and it looks interesting. I've only ever seen Pattinson in the Harry Potter movie he was in, so while I do not stereotype him as the sparkly vampire, I am having a hard time believing him as Batman/Wayne.

If the bad guy is Hush, that may be what saves the film if he's the focus and not the Riddler and Penguin.

It doesn't look bad, but I'd probably only see it on a $5 Tuesday if I actually went to a theater...if we're all still alive in Oct 2021. (they really should release it before then if it's done)

I used to be part of the shiat on sparkly vampire Pattinson crowd myself, but in recent years his work has taken him far beyond that mistake.

Highly recommend everyone go and watch The Lighthouse, it's nothing but him and Willem Dafoe for the whole film and he more than holds his own and demonstrates he has serious acting chops.

Look, I get it, he's good in that. Hayden Christensen was also supposedly a genius in Shattered Glass, so what? His work apart from that was Takers quality. Pattison is basically Twilight and cameo as a third tier wizard from a remedial wizarding house.

He's good in quite a few films, however, that you are still hung up on referencing stuff from a decade ago and ignoring the over a dozen films since Twighlight ended shows that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Which other ones have you seen?

My problem isn't with Pattinson. I saw what Keaton and Ledger pulled off.  My problem is from all the promo material it looks like they have based Bruce Wayne on the emo Peter Parker

Yeah, young people don't get why people liked Keaton as Batman because he wasn't built like Bale. Batman just has to be smart, pissed off and a little crazy.

Batman's a little like James Bond. There are two aspects to play with Bond: the suave socialite spy, and the brutal killer. Connery's beloved in the role because of how the brutal side was always just under the surface when he's playing the smooth spy, but not too obvious. Most Bond actors are better at one half than the other. So it is with Batman actors, except the role's probably somewhat easier since the two halves of the character don't overlap as much. Someone who's great at Bruce Wayne and just OK at Batman can still be a really fun Batman to watch.

Brosnan was my favorite Bond because he looked like was having fun getting with girls, killing the bad guys and chugging vodka. But he could also be a brutal killer.

Keaton's Batman was sort of awkward and anti-social but also killed the bad guys (which I know, comic book nerds, Batman isn't supposed to do).
