It is a great credit to the government agencies in Germany that they just have no time for anyone's BS no matter who they are.

In a paroxysm of self-parody, the commenters on the DRIVE article blame this bad news on Volkswagen, diesel cars, the DRIVE editorial policy, and many others. Just like everything else Tesla cocks up, it is the fault of dark forces or accountants, never incompetence.

Let me see. I will play along.

Yes. How about this? "Obviously, this is an attempt by Merkel, ostensibly backed by the Greens, who have been infiltrated with former Stasi spies, to discredit Tesla on behalf of the Seven Sisters as they attempt to wrest control of Germany's brown coal deposits for Blue Hydrogen production before they are left stranded by Energiewendte."  Study it out!

Wait till Elon finds out his Berlin workers will demand to unionize.

...why? Why not just pay the bill? What possible positive outcome did you see coming from this situation??

You are expecting sense from a company, that according to the article
, "While The Drive would contact Tesla for an explanation of Gigafactory Berlin's situation, the automaker recently disbanded its communications department."

Any decent size company needs a communications dept, even if it's just one guy good at press releases.

Nope.  Elon thinks he can do it all, and his rabid fanbase will be there fighting over who gets to suck him off first.

This is Germany, his workers won't demand to unionise. They will already be in a union and they is nothing short of shutting down Tesla in the entire EU that Musk can do about it.

Unions in Germany are very good at working with employers to make the best out of any job. They can also fark you over much harder than you can fark them over if you want to make a fight over it and the government will back them up.

It is 99% likely just an error. Either it was being funneled the wrong person, someone missed because they are working form home, someone quit/fired/retired and it wasn't setup who would pay it now, someone was new and doesn't know how to put it through SAP/purchasing, or some other similar cause.

The factory I work out didn't pay their electric bill a few months ago. It happened due to a combination some corporate people working from home and because there are other people who are new who didn't catch it. It was about $80K for the month that then had to be paid with the bill that showed up a month later.
