Did she ever START acting?

I kid, I kid.

I thought Stranger Things was overrated at first, but I think it's improved each season as it becomes less about just copying 80s tropes and Winona's acting continues to improve. Millie is fine in it and I can't judge her acting from that god-awful Godzilla flick where she mostly ran around screaming "MOM! DAD! MOM! MOM! DAD! MOM!"

She's good in the Enola Holmes flick, although to be fair it doesn't demand a whole lot from her.

Assuming it's the role I think it is (and the list is pretty short), she would have ended up getting a badass death in what was otherwise an unbelievably disappointing conclusion to the show's biggest over-reaching plot arc. So overall, she probably dodged a bullet there.

Daughter Henrietta thinks she should play a young Princess Leia in a Star Wars prequel.
I couldn't see it until she turned at a certain angle in Elona Holmes - and yeah, she looked just like teenaged Carrie Fisher.

She played the same role as she did in Stranger Things, but with less nose bleeding. That is to say she curled up in a ball a lot and cried.

Good to know. I'll check it out as soon as I have a lazy enough afternoon, but I'm resistant based on the superficial reasons that I hate watching Sherlock Holmes be younger AND way better looking than me! :)

I have only seen her in two movies...Godzilla and Enola Holmes.

I did not understand just how good an actress she was until I saw her in Enola Holmes (just last night).
She really carried that movie. She probably got paid less since it was Netflix, but I guarantee you tons of industry people are taking notice after that performance and the result will be better roles and bigger paychecks.

My wife and I think she looks like a young Wynona Ryder, circa Beetlejuice.

/Also, "Enola Holmes" was much better than it should have been.

That may change now that Netflix will soon be one of the few places you can watch a new movie.

I thought the whole third season was just homages...Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Terminator, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Alien, Red Dawn, Spies Like Us, Magnum PI...

I really like the show though. I've always been a fan of character-driven shows, and it's pretty well-acted considering the number of young adults in it.

And yeah she's a great young actress.

Lyanna Mormont I assume?

I am guessing it was more than a one line background character and I am struggling to think of any other role in Season Six that a 12 year old girl would be auditioning for.

Enola Holmes worked great as a movie. I wouldn't mind a spin-off series following up on her growth. The Sherlock Holmes Benedict Cumberbach is a hard show to replicate it is done so well, but Enola brings a bit more mischief and personability into the role. It would be interesting to see her character grow into an entirely different person than Sherlock. They do the same thing, but differently. I am surprised the cast they were able to assemble was pretty phenomenal though.

Brown, 16, added, "Like, this industry is just full of rejection, 24/7."

FFS, she's only 16, successful, and she's complaining about rejection? Maybe show business is not for her. I hope this doesn't end badly. She should talk to Emma Watson who recently spoke about how she felt like a fraud when she was younger because of her success.

Well she is taking about what it was like before she got her break. If you watch the interview she absolutely wasn't going "Woe is me I missed this role."

That specific quote she specified that she tells others that as a warning, then the rest was from Jimmy prompting her to elaborate.

And since the media is never going to pay attention to people currently in that situation, the only people that can express to an audience how it is are those that have become successful.

/also really weird hearing her actual voice
//I don't know if I have heard her speak outside of her role as Eleven before

This Sherlock looks like he literally flew in from Krypton and doesn't belong on the same planet with a bunch of wimpy humans.
It also has a villain that is the spitting image of Willem Defoe and is my vote to play Osborn in a Spiderman prequel

It was not a Netflix movie.  The movie was fully intended to be a normal theatre release but then covid hit.  Instead of pushing it back to next year they sold it to Netflix to release digitally.  I doubt they would do that if it cost a fortune.

I doubt she got paid a lot though.  Henry Cavill appeared for like 10 minutes in the entire movie and he likely got paid more.

I'm sure if they produce sequels (and it's quite likely they will, it's had a great reception and they can recoup some of the money they lost by not releasing this one into theatres), I'm sure she'll get a hefty raise.  Hopefully they get a writer that can make a coherent plot next time.

What's that actress been up to? (checks Wikipedia) Huh. She'll be in the next season of His Dark Materials. I thought that show was cancelled.

She peaked in her Hells Kitchen cameo.  She did a real good "I've got to get this turd out" face in Stranger Things though.

To be fair, Griffey Jr was the son of a very successful Major Leaguer, a star in high school, a first overall draft pick, and the top prospect in the minor leagues before he got a job in Seattle.

Bella Ramsey was a nobody in the television industry who had done essentially nothing in professional acting prior to Game of Thrones. Millie Bobbie Brown at least had a few minor credits by then.

The GOT team absolutely made the right decision, but nobody knew that in 2015.
