Mewsic Kitty Cafe was the first cat cafe in Tennessee. They just had to close permanently due to the continuing drop in business because of the pandemic.

This is another example of COVID sucking big-time.

Well, if a cafe that serves cats were to be opened in an Asian neighborhood . . .

So $10,000 a month for rent for a cat rescue place? Apparently I'm not getting the point of this kind of place. In my experience cats have to get used to an individual cat for a while before being sort of OK around them and there is still hissing and tussling even with that. Taking a cat to socialize with other cats seems like it would be an hour of mental stress for all involved.

For some cats, yes. Cats who can't tolerate other cats at all shouldn't be in one of these places. However, they usually have enough room for each cat to have their own space. Without the stress of being in cages, they can be fine.
