Conservatives are a plague rat licking death cult. If their deplorable behavior didn't affect anyone else, I'd be content with leaving them alone and letting them face the fate they chose, But that's not how airborne infectious diseases operate so I refuse to apologize for defending society from them by whatever means they make necessary.

Finally, the people of Michigan can start having their Covid parties again.

Now that trump supposedly has Covid-19 it is a sign of honor for trumpers to show they are just as strong.

As a citizen of michigan, I welcome the virus to ravage those rural areas that think they're more important than everyone else. I live in one, and am preparing again to load up on supplies and wait out the death cult.

The republican legislature and courts in this state are just as bad as the rest, and deserve the same fate. I'm done being nice and pretending I care about everyone. I only car about the ones who want to live. fark the rest.

I guess they don't agree with Dick Cheney that a constitution isn't a suicide pact.

Talk about a failed state! Dealing with epidemic disease is one of the most basic functions of any government.

The law is the law.  Like the President going to war unilaterally for 30 days and then requires congressional approval to continue.  The governor cannot extend her emergency declaration without legislature approval.  She failed negotiating with them and they said fark you.

Anyhow, this should have always been spearheaded locally.

Despite precedent and two previous acts of legislation defining and outlining the governor's emergency powers, Michigan conservative Supreme court justices demand that they not be asked to legislate from the bench by confirming precedent - but make no bones about proactively claiming out of nowhere that 50 year old legislation is now violates Michigan's state constitution. Fascinating.

Radical activist right wing judges jeopardize populace that they purport to serve in the middle of a pandemic.

As usual, you don't know what you're talking about.

Michigan has moved through stages of opening as virus numbers have gone down. We started with one of the worst infection rates in the country. We shut down hard, waited it out, then came back online a little at a time as things got better. You know, like adults should.

We're the 10th most populous state in the US and we're lower than 10th in infections. That's a win. We're pretty well open now. Masks inside, yes. But restaurants are open. Gyms too.

People like you who mistake inconvenience for tyranny continue to get people infected and killed. The next time you open your mouth, please use it to French kiss the president.

This might not change much here. The people who hated the lockdown were ignoring it (without apparent punishment) anyway. I'm guessing that the stores will keep whatever policies they have now going.

I'm not going to shop anywhere that seems carelessly unsafe. Why risk it?

The Michigan GOP still has a strong Gerrymandering setup here, but the next redistricting is going to be non-partisan. This might be their swan-song.

If precedent doesn't matter, then why does the governor have to listen to the court? Marbury v Madison is precedent.

Tell the Michigan department of health to yank the license of any restaurant or bar that doesn't adhere to capacity limits and mssks. And then the department of revenue starts an audit.
