My brother lives upstate near Saratoga Springs and my wife, kids and I went to her graduation from West Point.  My brother hosts a family party, my brother asked if I could help him and split the beer.  He then tells me hey, no shiat beer, these are good people coming to the party.  I spent over $700 on Revolution Anti-Hero, Staropramen Pilsner, solid top shelf stuff.

When I go to pack it in the ice all I see are these cans that look similar to Keystone.  Hundreds of them.  Mountain Brew.  I saw people drinking the beer I bought, figured I should try the stuff he got, maybe Mountain Brew is too craft, maybe it was too hoppy and these were unsophisticated drinkers so I grabbed a Mountain Brew.  As I pick it up a guy says hey, don't drink that shiat.  I said pardon.  He said that shiat is awful, Ron (my brother) said he asked his brother (me) to pitch in for beer and his brother farked him over and bought 15 cases of Mountain  Brew.

Putting aside my brother being a world class  ass this isn't the worst beer I have ever tasted but is the worst beer I have been falsely accused of buying.

Upstate New York must be nirvana for low-end old-fart beer. Utica Club is still around. Genesee. Piels is back, even.

I feel like my dad and his poker buddies are going to emerge from a Field of Dreams cornfield, thirsty for Schaefer and Rheingold.

Back in the early aughts, I had a friend who would dump a 1 liter mountain dew, fill it with liqour (generally peach or blackberry schnapps) and drink it on the way to concerts.  The guy would be absolutely housed in the hour it took to get to a show.

he called it his "mountain brew"

Midwesterner here.... so is it like "Milwaukee's Best" bad?  That's the cheapest and worst beer I've ever drank more than once... I was in High School and it was like 7 dollars for a suitcase.

/For ultra-cheap beers you can't beat Busch.  It's just water with a beer aftertaste... and alcohol.

TFA says it might just be rebranded Genny. As a friend of mine once said, "It's the best of the pisswater beers."

Milwaukee's best was the first beer i ever had and after my first swig i said " If this is Milwaukee's best i don't want tp taste their worst."     That got plenty of laughs as you can imagine.

I spent two years or so drinking mostly Rolling Rock, because it is ridiculously cheap at the nearest beer store.  When I garden or grill, all I want is something I can keep drinking all day.

As a positive consequence, any time I buy anything slightly better, like bud light or coors, it tastes like a damn microbrew.

Bought some Modelo and wondered where it had been all my life.

It sounds like a Dixie Brewing private brand. You may know them from Billy Beer and other well known debacles.
