Also ensure you occasionally disinfect their leads (leash) before going for walks.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are cultures that eat it.

I thought it was well known that Hedgehogs are a carrier?

...duh. Hedgehogs tend to poop and pee on their wheels. They also self-anoint to cover themselves with different scents. You should bathe them regularly, and clean their wheels/cages regularly too.

You know, because that's how you take care of them, dumbasses.

Many reptiles carry Salmonella, you should know this if you have a pet snake, lizard, etc. We got a corn snake for Tarrant Jr. when he was 8 and made it absolutely clear that he needed to wash his hands thoroughly after handling her.

If you're going to get a pet, it's your responsibility to learn how to care for and manage it. Cats need litter, dogs need walks, pet cages need cleaning, wash your hands.
