Hood to Holler.

Does that mean wear klan hoods at possum holler or a Black neighborhood is rapping in jubilation?

Been asking Kentucky that question for over 20 years now. With steadily increasing urgency and shrillness. Only dogs and bats can hear me now.

At one point the mountains were redder than red. Then, strip mining  crushed the UMW.
At one point, Louisville was the most heavily unionized city in the country.

Are you a Kentuckian?

Ha, I actually had already signed up for this. Love St. Paul and the Broken Bones and my lord...if you haven't heard S.G. Goodman yet, you're in for a treat. Sounds like Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton merged into some solid singer-songwriter folk/country. Her stories are also hilarious. (Not my video, but I was at this show.)

No, an occasional visitor. But I may end up emigrating to the Louisville area. If so, I'll do what I can to help shift the spectrum back again.
