NFL season postponed before Week 11.  Superb Owl to be played in April 2021.

So proposal is to move to week 7, steelers and titans get bye this week.

Move ravens/steelers to week 8 as it was their bye.  Ravens get bye week 7.

And hope that no other games get postponed.  Hah good luck.

They could have scheduled some extra bye weeks this year, just in case.

Whoopsie.

That would require forethought and planning and an ability to look at the situation honestly.  Which one of those describes the NFL?

cue the idiots who claim the refs/nfl  give the Steelers all the calls/breaks.

nothing more fair than having to play your biggest division test against a team fresh off a bye when you've been forced into an early bye due to another team's incompetence.

titans should have to forfeit or play with street bums, period.

Steelers fans are so spoiled they expect to be awarded free wins.

I'm nearly certain that will be the end of covid disruptions in the nfl this year.

nothing free about that.

And I'm sure the networks put no pressure on the league, not to dilute their weekly lineup.

So the league gave them an out by having them play 13 straight weeks as all their division rivals get their BYE a month from now?

Yeh that punishes the titans and rewards the rivals.  Same thing happens to Steelers. Have to play 13 straight, including against a ravens team on a normal mid-season bye.

Its bullshiat

Sorry, they should be forfeits to the team that stayed healthy.

And fines to the Coach, GM and Owner.

And if it happens again, they have to move to Cleveland and become the Browns

I, for one, am convinced.  It's not like you get all pissy and mad no matter what happens with the Steelers.  Right?

Eh. They could have played with whoever is healthy. There are plenty of teams having to play with partial teams due to health issues. Not sure why they exempted this one.

Except that you can't guarantee who is healthy going down the road. You might have a player who appears healthy get sick on game day and spread it around. Calling it early is safer than just trying to hope that nobody else gets sick. Hell, I think it was only 2 days ago when this first made the news, and there are already 2 more players sick.

To be consistent, they need to have the same solution to every outbreak.  And this is not going to be the only one.  Delaying to later in the season (the bye week solution) is not always doable and any late season games can't do that either.  Plus, punishing the Steelers with a week 4 semi-bye week is not fair.

So I hope they go with week 18.  That's still unfair because all the other playoff teams would get a bye week... but it's more fair than forcing a week 4 bye week.  However, it allows games with no playoff implications to just not be played at all.  Which is a bonus (I mean, NFL and the tv stations might be unwilling to give up the money, but suck it up).  And unless the same team has multiple cancellations, you could numerous games there.  And if we're dealing with a situation where the same team is impacted repeatedly by cancellations, the season would be in turmoil and likely cancelled anyway.  So, to me, that's the best solution.

You probably wouldn't even need to delay the super bowl either, because I'd hope we're not playing the probowl in a pandemic.

I'd like a judges ruling on this. Is this a Trump reference or not?

Who am I kidding? I'm already drunk.

Well, no, but it was a political reference. It just predates Twitler.
