Should be good.  Based on the pics they've released, it looks they basically filmed the play, rather than go for something more cinematic.

"It turns out"?

This movie has been mentioned in every article about Boseman since his passing.

Hopefully they got more than everyone's first take with Chadwick, so I don't have to grit my teeth and tell myself I'm enjoying the last movie from an actor I liked.

*ahem*

That's not unusual for a prolific actor. Hell, Robert Forster has a new movie coming out next week and he died almost a year ago.

But message from the king has already come out and even though I'm the only person who has seen it, 1 is more than 0

Brilliant. August Wilson's "Pittsburgh Cycle" is a modern day epic series of plays and a fitting bookend to Boseman's oeuvre.

I thought the meta workaround for the different actors worked kinda well. Still a flawed movie, but somewhat salvaged.

They did the same thing with Fences and I loved it.

It was definitely salvaged the best they could and I also think the other actors idea worked, it's just the other actors with Ledger were so bad. Not that they are necessarily bad actors, it just felt like what they used in the movie was footage from the dress rehearsal from the day when everyone received the script.

I'm also a very big Gilliam apologist, so that combined with Ledger's last movie, I really convinced myself that I liked it.

I've seen the play and liked it. I think this will be good even if stagey.

That's exactly what they did. It wasn't done to work out this way, going out to the general public, but Boseman's death and C-19 created the opportunity.
I'm just glad to see an arts and entertainment organization have a way to make money now, especially one in my city.
