Losing taste and smell doesn't really defy the descriptions since it's a covid symptom isn't it? Or was this before that was more widely known?

It's probably worse without the laugh track.

How did you miss the obvious tagline, subby?

Wow, that's a pretty breathless headline just to have Parsons report that he had symptoms that were pretty well known in late March. Given the headline, I expected to read that he'd been really sick. Thankfully, it sounds like his symptoms weren't too bad.

Just resubmitted under this headline, it's not like they look for that kind of thing anymore. Two threads referencing in awful sitcom is par for the course these days.

I wanted him to play Mr. Rogers in the biopic.

I developed anosmia a handful of years ago as a result of a sinus infection, couldn't smell or taste a thing for several weeks. It's a pain in the ass, and fairly discouraging. When the act of eating is reduced solely to solely a textural experience, it's a real adjustment. Green beans, for example, become a rubbery nightmare...

He's an actor/artist who lost two of his primary senses for an extended period of time.  It's going to be a difficult sensation to articulate fully.  Sure, he can say "lost taste and smell", but that doesn't do a particularly good job of conveying the experience.

I hope he recovers.  I'm not a fan, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone.  And I'm still not over covid taking Adam Schlesinger.

Become?  I think lack of taste would improve green beans.

Eh, what gets me overall are the people who claim it's "basically the same as the flu."

As a percentage of the population, the number of people who get full-blown, all-the-aymptoms flu is pretty low. I've had it, and holy shiat, it was awful. Actual flu isn't the same as a bad cold, it's in a class all by itself.

Make me want to give the anti-mask idiots 5 across their farking eyes for being so goddamn stupid.

I recall reading something about patients with damage to the amygdala reporting anosmia. While they couldn't smell or taste most things they would compensate by using hot chilis and sauces on their foods. Apparently the capsaicin in the peppers was still tasted at some level so they would eat stuff that would scorch a normal person's tongue.

Well, this happened in March, so apparently he's recovered and hitting the promotion trail for his new whatever.

When it was just starting for me, one of the first indications that something was going off was when my girl and I were tasting samples at a cheese factory and I could barely taste anything - including the habanero cheese.

Code "milky green".

With or without fever.
