Subby here, a little < ⅔ way through the episode.

So far it's touched on the pandemic itself, BLM / police shootings, schools by Zoom, improperly handled re-openings of schools, and lots of other 2020 weirdness, but nothing about the election yet.

Spoke too soon. President G. Douche aka Mr. Garrison aka thinly-disguised Trump just had a scene.

If you missed the start of it, it'll rerun twice tonight in succession at 9 & 10 EDT before The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, then again at 11:45 after that ends.

I liked the show when it was episodic absurdism until they really leaned into libertarian edgelording.

What? No, I mean the last several seasons have done this terrible story arc thing that I don't find to be funny. It's almost as if they're trying to make the show unwatchable so it'll get canceled.

Well that was, South Park. I guess I take back what I said about them learning to work within a standard time frame.

Speaking of edgelording.

There's a difference between the two. In the case of South Park, it is directly relating to the thing if one says "Wow, it's not funny anymore." It would be the equivalent of saying "I'm not gonna watch this football team anymore because they're 2-14."

If I remember right, it's 'sposed to be on HBO Max in the near future. I'll have to catch it then.

How does streaming work with CC? Do they have it  up on the site after 24hrs?

We canceled cable a while ago since there isn't much on that we watch. It looks like it might be on Philo, which we do have.

Another rerun is starting in just a few minutes. You can catch it then. After that it'll rerun after The Daily Show with Trevor Noah (which I'll watch anyway to get his take on the "debate").

Ok...this is on-brand and pretty damn funny so far.

My buddy is over watching and he goes, "Disney's lawyers will be in the phone soon"

He hasn't watched South Park since 1999...they'll be fine.

2016 Southpark was amazing. Best season they ever did.

I am looking forward to new TV content of any kind. Something tells me 2020-2021 is going to be a pretty dry year

Watched it on Philo. Funny but stupid at the same time.

That's a lie and calumny, Sirrah! As you probably found out later if you were watching when you typed that.

Kiler: So Philo is working great....and Cartman's song is spot on, even for "work".

I believe this is the first original South Park song since the awesome "Put it Down" from the episode of the same name. Trey Parker deserves every Grammy and Tony he's ever won or been nominated for. This one wasn't quite that good, but not much is.

If I had the chance to go back in time and stop Trump from becoming President, I'd do it in a heartbeat. The only thing that'd make me experience any regret about doing so whatsoever is that it'd mean that that song would never exist.

I thought by then it was revealed that the president was working fulfilling his promise. But, yeah, no mention of getting votes other than the scene were he told people to get out to vote. (In order to get more people to get near each other).

Cartman's song was great, but then again my username and dog's name probably check out.

See my comment right after that one. Almost immediately after I clicked "Add Comment" on that, President Garrison "Giant" Douche was phoned and appeared on-screen.

Right up there with the Farkers chiming in about "Season X" or 'edgelording'. I'm sure that Parker and Stone are focused on millennial catchphrases.

What a dogshiat analogy.

This dude says, "Well the show has gone from irreverent satire to a libertarian message board."

And your response is, "Well be a die hard fan or not one at all."

And I'll also bet if I looked, you're one of the many Farkers that batch about The Simpsons being great at season [who cares].

Anyone bemoaning SP's 'libertarian edge-lord streak' hasn't watched the show in about 15 years.
