YouTube TV is Google's live television streaming offering. It costs $64.99 per month, which is almost surely as or more expensive than what your local cable TV provider might offer you.

Ummm, no. Not even close. And that's after negotiating their 'best deal'.

"Play" seemed like idiotic branding from the moment they introduced it.

With that $64.99, you still need internet service.  Even if you can find some dirt cheap $30/mo service (like DSL back in the early aughts) that's $94.99.

Meanwhile, I just pulled the local Comcast offers:

/haven't had actual cable service since about 2011, but I added Sling to the internet+antenna+Netflix/Amazon/Hulu mix.

At&t will be giving the the Google dongle for anyone that signs up for a year of MAX
