I like the way he sums things up.

We need more people like him....just a regular, common sense dude.

I still want his cap.

So someone tell me who this guy is before i go sending him to other people and I find out that he is a freak.

Trump has never learned what "time out" is. He's about to find out.

I'm the submitter. I never really looked into him before now. He is a journalist that has adopted a you tube persona of Beau. To draw in  rural types to educate them about what the Republicans are doing to the country. I just found this out. The fifth column references the Spanish civil war. Resisters to Franco that hid in plain sight. His real name is Justin King.
His analysis of politics is straightforward and logical. He breaks down complex issues and makes them understandable by the average media consumer.

Wow that's even deeper than I thought. Other sites said he played up his southerness. I did not realize his story had that much depth.

All of his vids are worth a watch, even if you already know Trump is trash

Beau is fine.  He definitely has a target demo and a schtick, but once you know that, he still says good things.

I'll sum it up.

Pretty good assessment and sum up.

Yep, that was a summary. Nothing unexpected happened, except that it was an extreme example of what we already expected.

There are some videos on YouTube of him talking out of character. In real life, he was apparently a military contractor who realized he was working for some bad people, but he does seem to have good working knowledge of relevant playbook for insurgent and counter insurgent operations. I believe he's officially a libertarian anarchist in the same vein as journalist Robert Evans.

He's also spent some time in prison.

Also, here's his take on how they should change the rules of the debate.
Let's talk about making the debate more fair for Trump....

Sometimes this Beau guy gets in the weeds a bit, declaring possible scenarios as likely scenarios; and I expected the same this time around.

Instead, he expressed no surprise at the debate's outcome except at how much Trump amplified vote suppression rhetoric.

I found myself only surprised by the depths of Trump's ugly attacks on Biden and that Biden responded with a couple of below the belt jabs (ie. flat-out name calling).

Against any other opponent, Joe telling them to shut up, or calling them in generic terms as terrible, a liar, and a clown? He would be toast. In this circumstance, a bit boorish, understandable, and occassionally necessary.

Beau's overall interpretation is spot on. This was both generally expected and completely horrible while barely moving the needle in terms of votes. It's such a cynically sad but true take on where we are as a country.

He is a well spoken tries not to take sides[until recently mainly when trump shiat on military] dude that does historical looks and politics.

He has very good views and tends to break things down pretty much down the middle.

You can recently see him getting more upset with trump and the erosion of he democracy than anything else.

From the video:

If you're surprised that Trump loves his racist fans...well...then maybe you're not informed enough to be going anywhere on November 3rd

Justin King, or Beau of the Fifth Column, is a former Vet turned journalist.  Have a website.  https://justinking.org/about/

Not quite.  Beau is not a liberal.  Watch his 2nd amendment videos.  He is one of those rare "we need guns to defend against tyranny" who means it and actually understands what authoritarianism is.  He's an anarchist (the real political philosophy, not the randomly violent boogie men of right-wing talking points) with a incremental, community networking approach and highly progressive views.  He's a small government (ideally no hierarchical government but he freely admits that is an outcome he doesn't expect to live to see) progressive.  He doesn't think concentrating power and social hierarchy is generally an ideal solution (but he's a huge advocate of civic responsibility and grassroots solutions).  Basically strong libertarian left.  He avoids using the term anarchism because people tune out upon hearing it.  Instead he just presents ideas.  While he tries to persuade, he prefers to do it by making people think and he wants ideas to stand on their own.

"Beau" is just an exaggerated version of his own self.  He lets his natural drawl get thicker for effect.  He is unapologetically a redneck but he is also well read, smart and has a very colourful set of old contacts.

He's a surprisingly level-headed, ex-security consultant (read "Contractor"), and Libertarian.  He has the distinction of being the least rabid, most sensible Libertarian I've ever listened to.  Ideally, he'd like community policing and community-owned, private schools, but he's pretty understanding about how the rest of us would like trains to continue to run on time, public agencies to continue to do good things like Medicare, etc.

He also has a VERY high resolution camera for his channel.  He only seems to get angry when elected officials publicly, obviously, and deliberately work against the purpose of their office for personal gain.  He's been angry a lot lately.

Funnied.

I still think putting some part of the blame on Biden for last night's debacle is unwarranted. Not half the blame. Not 25% of the blame.

One candidate came as the pigeon of  chess players. Soooo. Yep.

He's a former journalist retired and living with his family in the rural part of the Florida panhandle. He's also done a lot of police and security training and research. Dude knows his stuff.

I guess I'll be the odd man out and say there's something I don't really like about this guy. While I agree with much of what I've seen from him (not all, as he is WAY more libertarian than I am), what grates on me is his schtick. I mean, it's sooo transparently fake. The beard. The redneck clothes and exaggerated drawl. Filming all his videos in a garage. And, most of all, the delivery, with his exaggerated "serious, thoughtful, smoldering concern" and frequent "gathering my thoughts on this tough issue" pauses while looking off camera. I get what he's doing, and I can appreciate it. I hope he reaches the people he's trying to reach and changes some minds. But something about his acting just irks me.

I could not get my dad to sit through anything political that is not on fox news.

Around a week ago I showed him a very middle of the road Beau video and he was into it hard.

He has watched a few more and I have gotten this gem which I will sit on until it hatches, my dad said, "That Beau guy and I don't agree on politics, but boy does he make you think."

I think that is the goal for Beau, as some teachers use him for civics lessons and he has done videos for teachers before, to get people to think.

What makes you think it's a schtick? There are plenty of people just like him in the south, me being one of them. We can't get mad and shout, or we get waved off as a "lunatic libby lib." To make a point, we have to be careful with our words because...let's call them "detractors"... will latch onto any minor error and strawman the hell out of it.

His interview a few weeks/months ago with Trae Crowder was probably a lot less scripted, for lack of a better word. But he's still the same person in that interview.
