McConnell, when asked whether it was a problem that Trump did not directly rebuke white supremacy, said he agreed with the remarks made by Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), the only Black Republican in the Senate, calling on Trump to "correct" his statement.

So...he's agreeing with his one black friend. Bold choice there Mitch, you rancid mass of traitorous chud.

They did say something about the KKK. But, as I was explaining to my Trump-supporting dad the other day, their condemnation of the KKK is meaningless, because the KKK is the old guard of racism. Like, Americans cannot recognize hate unless it's in its most time-tested, extreme incarnate, and while it's minorly cool that they finally recognized the KKK as terrorists, it sucks that they only did it when the KKK today mostly comprises of boomers on their death bed, and struck a morally equivalency with antifa too, all the while ignoring this generation's hate groups.

Again: he says these things because the "liberal" media accepts them at face value. Exhibit A: the linked article
Exhibit B-Z: all the other "news" outlets.

They report exactly what this farking vampire and all his co-conspirators say and rarely if ever say what really needs to be said in response to the millionth time one of them lies: Motherfarker, please.

The only people who will do it are the comedians (Colbert et al). The "real" news people won't do it. fark, Gayle King told Nancy Pelosi the other day (whenever it was) that when Pelosi said the Republicans were President Useless Asshole's "henchmen" (a demonstrable fact), that characterization was "egregious."

Gayle King (Oprah's BFF) is a black woman telling a white woman that the term the white woman used to describe a group of mostly white people who have enabled every appalling thing our current president has done and said was unacceptable. Too mean. LOL

I mean, I'm not saying Gayle should go all Angela Davis on the CBS morning show, that would obviously upset the mostly white people who watch that show but she could at least refrain from scolding Nancy Pelosi for observing the reality of what's been happening for the last 4 farking years.

Gayle seems to think she's being professional and "objective." As is often the case, she's wrong.

Also, you're objectively wrong. Biden clearly said "Proud Boys."

I have access to that movie on my Roku and can't bring myself to watch it. I keep telling myself I should but so far I just can't. Hell, I haven't seen GWTW all the way through. Only bits and pieces.

My all time fave silent is Metropolis with the Morodor soundtrack. 20k Leagues Under The Sea from 1917 has an interesting back story for Nemo. A Persian prince bent on revenge for his daughter. It was weird.

I just bought the Moroder Metropolis the other day.  It sure is one hell of a trip.  Some of it works and some of it doesn't, but it's a historically-significant cinematic curiosity either way.  I did like how they dropped the intertitles in favor of subtitles, though--it works for for practically any silent film that isn't The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

From what I understand that was very close to Verne's original idea, except he dialled it back as too dark

Ah. Thanks for the info. Apparently not so dark that it didn't get out to the filmmakers. I wonder if the early versions had it. For 1917 it is watchable.
