Being so close to Ft. Erie Canada, we here in Buffalo are familiar with peameal bacon. I love it. It does taste quite a bit like ham...

I have been to Carousel for their peameal bacon sandwiches.  It was a staple of mine in the beforetimes when I worked downtown.

We have "back bacon" or "pea meal bacon". No "Canadian bacon". Back bacon isn't the slice of dried out ham that Americans call "Canadian bacon".

He's certainly spot on that, once you get away from Trawna, "peameal" bacon is more likely to be coated in cornmeal.  That's what we see when we're at the cottage.

Since I now spend 10+months of the year in the Pea and Lentil Capital of the World, I should try making some real peameal bacon.
