(Vice)   Apparently there are a lot people out there that would pay $6K for a vintage Aladdin shirt   (vice.com) divider line

Only $6k?  Are they on sale?

No one will forget where they were when they heard about the $6,000 Genie shirt, especially since six grand is about what you'd pay for a 10-year-old Toyota Corolla.

This is the stupidest thing I've ever read.

It's not just Disney, the whole 80s-90s vintage clothing market is nuts and has been for a while.

CSB: this winter I talked to a barman in a rather remote beach bar in Thailand.
He had a whole side hustle buying and selling vintage shoes and shirts on eBay - most of which sold for at least the equivalent of a local monthly wage.
I found it pretty amazing how this guy was able to cash in on this trend and become a part of that global market with nothing but his phone (and some friends and relatives in Europe to handle a part of the shipping).

T-shirts?  Really?

*checks eBay*

Well, holy crap.

I have a like new Donkey Kong 64 promotional t-shirt that people are selling on eBay for $200-300.

I can't find my Animaniacs t-shirts on there though.

I've got a closet full of vintage (ugh. i guess 1997 is vintage now) levi's silvertab carpenter jeans.  They've always been my favorite jeans that fit my strange high waist proportionally and looked good on me.

bought most of them used on ebay over the last few years , and have four or five pairs; enough to last me until i'm 60 if i take care of them.

I wonder if the Proud Boy group is driving the Aladdin merch now? This could be the ne plus ultra of 2020.

They are still ugly shirts.  Now ironic text based shirts? Pure gold.
