Yet more proof that nothing increases your odds of getting shot quite like having a gun.

This is a road rage incident, this truck driving man should have his license yanked for brake checking somebody, and arrested for attempted murder for firing shots when no threat existed.

But nothing gonna happen. Betty White.

Also if the dash cam GPS is to be believed it looked like he was kissing triple digit speeds.  On a public road.  Shooting through his windshield.

At a different idiot on a public road pointing his gun at the original idiot.

Cockpunches all around.  They can Uber home 'cause neither one of these farks should be allowed to drive a vehicle.

Stupid reporter - this is not California. We don't say "the" before the number of the freeway. It's "417", not "the 417".

Seriously, what the hell is this? It's not like the dude is cornered and has only the choice between dying and shooting. Slow down, get off at the next exit. This guy wanted to play badass and thought this would be a good opportunity to try to kill someone and get his adrenaline on. This should be evidence #1 in the reason why he shouldn't be able own anything deadlier than a damn wiffle ball bat.

Actually it's acceptable here in Orlando, but only for the toll roads: "the turnpike," "the 408," "the 417," etc. The interstates are still "I-4," "I-95," and "I-75."

We did something similar, except still for playing with the whiffle ball. Cut off the end cap from the handle and stuffed it with newspaper, then wrapped the entire exterior with duct tape.  Could hit the small, baseball-sized balls 100-120ft.  We rented a radar gun once -- pitches were 50-55mph from 35 ft away.  Between that and the bat speed needed to get around in time, solid contact with a fastball would bend the bat at the handle without the modifications.

Both parties in this are assholes.

I think what you're trying to claim as brake checking is round about this point in the video:
Highway Self Defense Shooting Orlando Florida
Youtube ImiVMnAAB5Y

Truck douche's speed is fairly constant. It's sports car douche who's crossed the striped bit to attempt to pass him, then nudged him when truck douche tried to prevent the pass.

/And the entire concept of "brake checking" is garbage, anyway.

This. Guy in the Nissan sports car passes him in an extremely assholish fashion, and how does Capt. Vigilante McDashcam respond? Does he slow down or pull off the road? No, he speeds up to 90 MPH to get *closer* to the crazy dipsh*t in the sports car.

Dude's going to lose his "self defense" case. Prosecutor might even throw in a charge of reckless endangerment for firing a gun while driving on the interstate. When you're carrying a firearm you're expected to try and *avoid* trouble, not go chasing after it.

I was one pulling out of a lot at the same time a guy 20 feet down was pulling out at the same time.  In his he felt I cut him off some how. He pulls up next to me and yells "pull over so I can shoot your ass!" Now I did have a gun on me, but why invite trouble?  I yelled back "well if you're going to shoot me, then I'm not pulling over."
Then I called the police and gave them his plate number and made it their problem.
I figured it would be best to have it on record in case the guy came back through my neighborhood looking for my car.

Ass_Master_Flash: brake checking somebody

He didn't brake check anyone. The vehicle speed (probably GPS accuracy) is displayed on the video and there is no point that his vehicle speed decreases. It was increasing or holding steady when the other driver rammed into the back of his vehicle.

2020-09-30 8:21:50 AM
My immediate question is why is the driver handing the weapon and firing? That's the passenger's job.

2020-09-30 8:26:20 AM
Shouldn't even need to have used the pistol. If someone is along side you (particularly on the right side) and they point a gun out the window at you, your first IMMEDIATE action should be to swerve hard right to sideswipe them HARD and force them off the road, into the ditch, or smash into the side barrier of the road. It takes quick reflexes to do this, but it's what you should do IMMEDIATELY when someone brandishes a pistol at you. Use the 5,000 pound vehicle you are driving as the immediate weapon, and then, when you are slowing down, draw your pistol as a backup weapon and be prepared to use it if the assailant recovers and gains ground on you.
