The author of TFA edits a newspaper in Storm Lake - that's right in the middle of Steve King country.  If he's bearish on Breadbags Joni, then she's in real trouble.

Well, Joni, it looks like it's back to the bread bags for you.

"They tell the Iowa Poll that Ernst has not done enough for Iowa - a criticism that felled past senators such as Dick Clark,"

He gave you American Bandstandand the Ed McMahon Wacky Gag Reel Funtime Comedy Hour. It doesn't get any more Iowa than that, you ingrates.

Time for her to pull up herself up by her bootstraps breadbags and face what she's got coming.

We subscribe to Art's Storm Lake Times (here in Cedar Rapids).  Mostly we do this to support a really great little newspaper.

Storm Lake is a pretty amazing little niche and is nothing like the rest of Steve King turdland.  The schools there have people who speak 31 different languages; the community is very friendly towards their immigrants (who work in all sorts of local industries).

I will not be surprised to see Biden with the State and Greenfield take the Senate seat.

Republicans have been working hard to kill us all... and finally, I think the country has reached the point where enough people are noticing that.

Its not that bad, actually. 20 minutes after this scene, she arrives back in the present riding on Obama's Time Machine with a hyper-intelligent velociraptor in a bowler hat and two dino-sapien children dressed as 1940s street scamps.

I spent a good deal of my formative years on the family farm.

Castration of livestock is something you never forget.

The fact that Uncle D lost a thumb to an equipment malfunction may figure into that.

Trump has made elections easy for the rest of our lives.

After what has come out, and what will, anyone who chooses to place an R beside their name is persona non grata.
Sadly, as yet, there is no viable third party.
So, vote D. President down to the 2nd administrative assistant municipal dog catcher and all in between.
Unless or until the Ds trot out someone as tragically flawed as Trump (unlikely)

Like most rural states, iowa is the economic perfect that runs the country of which the urban cities drain the money from so they can have their "good schools" and "theatre productions" of historical figures who look nothing like they originally did because of reasons. Heaven forbid they put together a musical version of the bible.

God Bless Art Cullen (and the rest of the Cullen clan) for keeping independent journalism The Storm Lake Times alive in rural Iowa.

Times are tight here in the Bronx but I'll get a digital sub.  It certainly is a step up from my beloved Ruthven Zip Code.

This. I will vote straight-ticket Democrat until the GOP is politically irrelevant. I'll push for more progressive Democrats in primaries, and I will do what I can to push elected Democrats leftwards, but I will not vote for a third party as long as Republicans have an iota of power.

Truly, all of urban America is relying on the massive sums of tax revenue that Iowa generates from the most lucrative economic activity in the state... *checks notes*... the Iowa State Fair.

Wait... what happened with the bread bags?  How else would you do it?  There's only three places they can go:

Inside the socks: Works, but wow is that gonna be uncomfortable
Between boots and socks: Yes.
Outside the boots: The flimsy plastic bag isn't gonna last long.
