Luckily it's only "frowned upon," not forbidden, or a rule. It's like sex with housekeeping.

One of these gentlemen used to eat people. The other killed a guy that used to eat people.

It's creepy how you keep a body around the house"

Agreed. It says in the article that he wanted the bones to keep his mind active when he retires. An osteophiliac?

When I collect enough of them, I'm going to open a 'Dahmer Nose Pizzeria.'

People can be very funny about bits of bodies. To me, they're just lumps of meat but in Liverpool (where else?) there were reports of full funeral masses (what else?) being said for single microscope slides which had been retained in the children's hospital.

If any bits of me need lopped off at any point the surgeon who does it is welcome to keep them for research, for study or just to feed his dog. I really don't care.

I wonder what Mickey Mantle's liver would bring at auction. His first one, that is, his rookie liver.

Hey, I'm getting both knees and hips done at some point, thanks to some strangely amusing genetic defects

I would have no issue with my doctor keeping my old joint parts. There is nothing sacred about the heads of femurs or condyles. Mount them on the wall like trophies for all I care.

No, I get the concept of the lack of consent but it's not as though anyone was harmed.
It seems like a total sensationalistic bullshiat piece.

Totally agree. Lots of hand-wringing about fark all. Lawyers will be getting a bit of money for the families' "grief" while filling their pockets.

I guess I can see it if you have some religious reason or something but even then, if it weren't for these investigative journalists, no one would ever know. If you never knew about it, god wouldn't blame you (I don't think) If anything, the writers have inadvertently doomed many people to burn for eternity in a lake of fire.

Consent isn't invalidated as a requirement because you don't get caught for a long time.  It isn't invalidated because you think it's nbd.  Their bodies, and the parts thereof - their choice as to what happens to it.

I expect the parts are normally just thrown in the garbage. Sure he is creepy. Maybe as criminal as dumpster diving. They should probably poll his patients to see if any of them care.

I knew a family doctor that would trim his elderly patient's toenails because they couldn't reach. He kept all the cuttings in jars in his office. Creepy for sure. Did he take good care of his patients? Yes. No one seemed to care about the toenails...but not sure he told them.
