Halifax was the promised land for American slaves during the revolution.  Promised their freedom if they helped the crown, thousands escaped to British lines.  After Yorktown, the British moved thousands of them north, and then essentially abandoned them there.

Those former slaves managed to scratch out a living, anyway, until the crown came up with the idea of moving them to Sierra Leone.  And many did.

Where the crown essentially abandoned them.

Whole lotta racial history in north-eastern Canukistan.

Dont get too excited. This is the canadian liberal approach. All the words, zero action.

I'm shocked. Now, talk to a regular rural white person around here. It's...not something they seem able to digest.

But hey, Progress?

I mean, Nova Scotia has such a great history of treating its Black residents with dignity, respect, and fairness.  Just take a look at how well they did with Africville
, and how great the place looks now!

I mean, who needs houses and businesses when that's valuable property white people can raze to make a park with a sundial?!?

And thanks to the anti-masker, "but muh freedums" folks here in the US, I can't get home to Nova Scotia for Christmas.
