You need a study for that?

No. Shiat.

What matters is: what you are going to do about it?

Retrospectively classify them as a PAC then prosecute them for campaign violations ....?

Sue them for malfeasance in persuading suckers not to take precautions against Covid?

They take their marching orders from Trump:

And they're playing to Conservative voters:

At this point, the cruelty is the point and they don't even bother to hide it.

Though they were uncharacteristically full of praise at the Democratic Convention.

Wonder if those people got fired since then.

Republicans are sore, angry winners.

It's not like they could get smarter.

Gutfeld, Carlson, and Hannity. I'd say 90% of the increase came from them.

Shoot, I could have told them that for $5,000, easiest study ever.

They didn't become more hateful, they are just more open about it.
Nobody changed because of Trump. He merely reveals who various aholes have always been.

She is very good at her job.  Imagine what she could have accomplished if she had morals and ethics and decency.

They are just upset at how the Democrats have taken the country in the wrong direction for the last 4 years...

They've had to up the batshait frothing quotient due to increased competition from OANN.

The hate was always there.  Trump just gave them license to say it out loud.

2020-09-29 4:39:28 PM
To be fair I couldn't ever claim to truely hate someone till Fox jumped into the Trump bandwagon. Now there are millions of people I loathe with a passion. Fox's propaganda has probably created as much hate against that it drummed up in support for.

That last one won't work. As we seen with that recent defamation of character lawsuit against Tucker Carlson, Fox News successfully argued that nobody with half a brain buys the shiat they're selling.

It's time for the left to counter all this hate with love. Free love... and drugs... and really good music...

Fark, I'll start. <takes of pants>

Look at me... wheee....

I feel like back when they used euphemisms for things or at least tried to keep the quiet part quiet, they were less dangerous and committed less hate crimes. The guy that posts, "Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin," is a lot less likely to tie a gay person to the back of his pickup truck and drag him 3 miles than someone that's constantly screaming, "God hates f*gs!" They're both thinking the same things about gay people. They both think they're going to hell. But one of them is thinking it in much more violent terms than the other.

Fox News has definitely gotten worse sense the Bush administration. I used to get into heated arguments about the Iraq War back in 2006, but now I try to avoid these conversations whenever possible. I'm outnumbered here and I don't want to draw undue attention from the Kyle Rittenhouse hero worshipers.

This is the way totalitarianisms work.

Always there must be an Emmanuel Goldstein to fight, to unify as a seething mass against it.

Fox News has been pouring this vacuous hate-filled rhetoric into the ether 24 hours a day for 25 years. It will never turn off the propaganda machine.

Private_Citizen: At this point, the cruelty is the point

That is true and is the dismaying part of the last several years. 43% of America sees cruelty as the point of our common life. Oh, they hem and haw, but there's nothing that Trump added to the mix except to make cruelty overt. They would have had the same tax cuts, the same judges, the same everything without the lying and self-dealing. Everyone of those feckless jackasses who were in the Republican debates would have been perfectly adequate rubber stamps for Republican policy. Trump's "value added" is savage, overt cruelty.

I bet He Who Cannot Be Named never got 43% in Germany.

It's interesting how a network, and really an entire party gets by doing almost nothing but finger pointing and demonizing their opposition.  They almost never talk actual issues, platform or solutions- they literally spend 90% of their time on 1) fictions about Dem's 2) fear mongering about Dems 3) whataboutisms

I've watched a fair bit of faux news, I've seen most of the RNC's TV spots, get RNC mailers almost daily and I couldn't tell you anything about their platform or actual plans for governing.

Pinned down here too.  We may have had two guys walked out today over their differences.  Both 30 yr people could have lost it all over this.     The guys on the right keep putting the mailings on the walls and daring the few libs the take them down.    It gets loud after that.  They parrot all the fox stuff all day long.  I've even seen the nazi salute thrown during lunch. Best part? We're all unionized and these idiots vote against themselves every chance they get.

All of what used to pass as conservative that is currently aligned with what Trump has turned the GOP into is vastly more hateful than they have ever been.
