Dolly Parton is so beloved that when Rhinestone came out and the Razzies nominated it for almost every single category, they spared her.

Zevon's Evil Twin: I love Dolly Parton.

When my Dad went all out one Christmas and bought a cassette player (it was like $50), our two tapes were Dolly and Dean (Martin).

She is a national treasure.  A woman who's life would easily make any lifetime movie about women coming up in a mans world and rather than pouting she DID IT!!!  And is such a legend!  God bless her!!  Love her to death.  I think she is so darned sweet and nice!  Ive heard of TONS of stories of people meeting her and she is so nice to fans....

For her ability to hold the worlds largest DIVA cup, nope she is as nice as can be and can sing like an angel...

As much as I love Dolly, I dislike holiday music. In my head this is like dividing by 0.

/when I was 17, I worked the Christmas season at Macy*s at the Esplinade Mall in Kenner, LA
//After 6 weeks of 4-6 hours a night of Xmas music, I still cringe when I hear any.
///Except for Darlene Love's "Christmas Baby, Please Come Home"

I've been catching up on old episodes of the podcast RadioLab recently, which included portions of their mini-series, Dolly Parton's America. I imagine anyone interested in her would like the series.

I hope it is better than the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. That was the worst porno ever! All they did was sing and I never got to see Dolly's goodies!

//Apologies to The Venture Bros.

God, I hope it's better than the little series she did for Netflix or Amazon, or whatever. They were each stories based around one of her songs. Jolene was one. We sat thru two, and they had all of the punch of. Hallmark movie that didn't make the cut. Even my wife, who loves those Hallmark blah-fests felt they were just flat and uninteresting. But it's Dolly, so it's worth a second chance for sure. As has been mentioned, the woman is a true national treasure.

Don't tempt fate, subby. This is 2020, you tempt fate and the next Dolly Parton headline might be "Beloved entertainer Dolly Parton was crushed to death under a tractor".

I don't know how anyone who ever worked retail can stand holiday music. The only song I can even kind of like is Jill Sobule's Christmas From the Family.
