Mild disgust. None of those were particularly heinous except for the ones that add ranch where it doesn't belong.

But, that peanut butter on a burger thing is excellent. My favorite burger is has bacon, cheese, a fried egg and peanut butter on it.

Cracked still around? Evidently it is, but who is actually reading it except Subbs, and you, you up there, above me!

Mr. Tarrant likes peanut butter and tomato sandwiches *hurk*

Cottage cheese with s&p is fine.  Another one to add to the mix is peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches, an old family favorite!

Liverwurst and mayo sandwich.

Ok, not too outlandish but that's something people either love or are utter disgusted by...In my experience.

/Man...that sounds good about now actually...if only my arteries would let me.

Spaghetti-Os and Quaker Oat Squares.

1. Watermelon and feta cheese salad

2. Mango and onion salad

Don't know why they work, but they do...

2020-09-29 10:33:28 AM
Salt and pepper on cottage thing is normal.  Cottage cheese, in and of itself, is disgusting anyway.  But there are plenty of people who put S&P on it.

I guess I could see the shrimp & chocolate pudding.  It's the white trash version of a mole sauce.

Toasted cheese-and-Mars-bar....just be sure to let it cool first - hot caramel burns like a mutha.

2020-09-29 10:37:09 AM
Some people just have farked up tastes. I've seen people eating really gross shiat with massive grins on their faces. Ketchup on steak, pineapple on pizza... I'd go on, but I feel a bit queasy.

Everyone in my family eats bacon sarnies (britbong for "sammich") with malt vinegar splashed on them (preferably Sarson's). Buttered toast, crispy bacon, and malt vinegar.  It's heaven.  I have no idea if anyone else does it.

Try a light sprinkling of Cavender's Greek seasoning. Fantastic.

Grape jelly and mayonnaise sandwich.

That list could have used a little more mayo.

Uranus: 1. Watermelon and feta cheese salad

2. Mango and onion salad

Don't know why they work, but they do...

Watermelon is sweet, feta is salty.  Always a good combo.  This would be even better if you put the watermelon on the grill first.

My easy go-to is adding some jam/jelly of the appropriate flavor. It's like yogurt with higher protein.

Canned pears + a dollop of Miracle Whip + sharp cheddar = weirdly tasty appetizer. Grew up eating this a couple times a year.

Many seem to be disgusted with liverwurst alone.  I like some deli mustard with mine.  Wife doesn't eat liverwurst OR mustard.

Ham and mustard on a blueberry bagel. Delicious.

i had a friend who always ate peanut butter / mayo sandwiches, which I thought truly horrible.  Then one night after a bout of much partying, he got me to try one.

It was fantastic.  In college I kept these ingredients in the dorm for cheap food, and by the end of my freshman year, everyone on the dorm floor was eating them.  Haven't had one in years, though.  Now i'm old and afraid

Great on cheese, toast & scones.
It also a great lube on the door-hinges of my old truck!

#14 - grilled sauerkraut sandwich with mustard and mayo

rather common though often has cheese. If you are Kosher (no corned beef with dairy) and Vegan (no cheese)  and have run out of ketchup you could strip it down that far.

PB on a burger is pretty good, though for me it's got to be proper unmolested unsweetened natural.  I haven't quite experimented with cheeses yet, but a thin slice of red onion and some thick-slice bacon is my favorite combo.

Falafel pita with bacon, feta, spinach, pineapple, and hummus.

2020-09-29 11:32:15 AM
Most of those sound gross and I don't really care. Don't try to feed any of it to me and we're cool.

I put pepper on cottage cheese. Don't know what the problem is. Pepper is a seasoning.

Salt and pepper on cottage cheese is weird?

My friend when I was growing up used to eat Peanut butter and yellow mustard sandwich on white bread...surprised me in a good way when I finally tried it

Toasted with peanut butter and jelly. Fried eggs over top with hot sauce.

I like cottage cheese and one of my favorite ways is with pineapple chunks and S&P. Makes for a nice sweet and savory breakfast.

My somewhat weird combo that I enjoyed as a kid was PB&J sandwich that you dipped into Campbell's vegetable beef soup.

A) A Duane Purvis is not disgusting, right off the bat.
B) salt on cottage cheese is great.  Garlic salt is greater.
C) use a salted pretzel to eat chocolate ice cream.  You're welcome.

Ketchup on a hotdog!

J.R. 'Bob' Chinaski: Ketchup on a hotdog!

You monster! Obviously you're not from Chicago.

Many years ago we had a Swiss exchange student living with us and she had never had BBQ sauce before. First time she tried barbecue ribs she was hooked and put BBQ sauce on everything. Burgers, hot dogs, fries were normal. Steak I cringed because a good steak doesn't need any sauce but thought OK. Scrambled eggs and spaghetti made me queasy.

Then I saw her put it on vanilla ice cream. She ate it all up. I tried a bite and, while it wasn't horrible, it definitely should not be an available topping at Baskin Robbins.

List incomplete without any kind of aspic.

Needlessly Complicated: List incomplete without any kind of aspic.

I think aspic/gelatin started out as a vapor barrier preservative similar to the way that icing on a cake keeps it fresher.

Large meats would be cooked and then glazed with aspic to keep them fresh and potted dishes such as terrines might be sealed with aspic rather than fat.

It started off as wrapping paper, not food in itself.

I've found blackberry ketchup is pretty good on hamburgers. Something about the tangy fruitiness works with the beef.

Went to a restaurant that made a burger with smoked cheddar, candied bacon, blackberry compote, peanut butter and caramelized onion, all served on a toasted pretzel bun. Damn it was good.

Mayo is great on any savory sandwich. It's all about moderation, though. I like a duck liverwurst sandwich on rye with just a thin spread of mayo. Mushroom mayo if you've got it.

On another note, sweet cream gelato with roasted spicy paprika is heavenly. Add a bit of crispy bacon and you will see the Buddha.

Liverwurst, raw onion, and spicy deli mustard on rye. For bonus points, toasted.

Yeah I had the same thought. I've been doing that for years.
