No garbage cans for Houston. No teams win it all when they're under .500 either... What a weird fluke of this playoffs.

Will this finally be the year the A's stop shiatting the bed in the playoffs? Either way, the drinking starts now.

Go Twins

fark the cheating Astr*s

If the Cubs don't win it all, I hope it's one of the sub-.500 teams, just to immediately illustrate how stupid it is to have this many teams in the playoffs.

Why ABC? Is ESPN's weekday afternoon programming so sacred that they have to wreak havoc with everyone who DVRs Jeopardy every day?

Go, um, Twins, Rays and Indians. I'm ok with either A's or Sox.

The White Sox have a serious 2015 Cubs vibe about them right now.  They have a lot of talented young hitters and some intriguing arms in the rotation.  They kind of ran out of gas at the end of the season, but baseball is so damned fluky and a three game series is effectively a coin flip.  All they need to do is go on a mini-hot streak and they could find themselves in the ALCS.

Read the headline.  There is a game on ABC starting at 2 pm and a different one on ESPN starting at 3 pm.

There were no National League games this season.

No.

Let me get a cup of coffee, tie my shoes, that sort of thing. Can you hold off the postseason for, oh, a week?

Ah. Ok. Still, they could have started the TBS game at three and used ESPN/ESPN2 for the rest.

Although I guess there's going to be more games tomorrow, so maybe it's necessary.

I just wanted to biatch about  the Jeopardy thing.

Yeah, they could use ESPN2, but I suspect they don't wanna because fewer people get ESPN2 than ESPN.

Bring on Yankees Elimination Day, fark the Yankees. Go Tribe!

2020-09-29 2:42:16 PM
If the Tribe doesn't make it to the ALCS, I will haz a sad.   Yeah, they only have two guys who can hit, but the others can draw walks.   And they have two great starting pitchers and a fine closer.   Not enough to win it all, probably.

And can we stop with the  asterisks already?   Every season up to 1920 has an asterisk for gambling.   1972, 1981, 1995 ... strike shortened.   The whole steroid era.   Every expansion year.    Enough.   It is all good or none of it is.

it's messing with my head a bit that the Wild Card round isn't all WC teams playing each other.

let's see...go Twins, A's, either, and Indians.

If I had a time machine, just for a cheap laugh, I'd go back in time to February, find a Texas Rangers fan, and tell them that the World Series will be held in Arlington this year.

welp, when the season is screwed up, MLB always goes with Dodgers-Yanks in the WS.   Looks like a repeat of '81 this year

Fun fact: The GM for Cleveland, Mike Chernoff, is the son of Mark Chernoff, who runs WFAN, the biggest sports radio station in New York, which broadcasts Yankees games.
