A brand new set of felonies for Flynn and his attorneys. Barr needs to do prison time.

There seems to be some other explanation later in the thread from a CBS reporter, and a commenter seems to indicate this will debunk the Stzrok claim.

I can't really follow this very well, so maybe there is a Fark lawyer who can translate.

Flynn pleaded guilty. Twice. After the judge made sure he knew what his plea meant. There is no logical explanation that ends with Flynn being innocent. This just makes things look worse for Barr, and things looked awful for him before.

As a sort of bittersweet bonus, this makes the first Bush administration look guilty as Fark for hiring and then listening to Barr back when all those assholes should have gone to prison but didn't.

I don't know if he's guilty or not.  Probably; I don't find it important enough to dig into it.  But if I had to pay attorneys for over a year to go up against the government, and I could make it stop with a plea that didn't involve jail time?  Damn right.

Prosecutors and the government do this constantly.  They were doing it to himin the hopes of landing bigger fish.  It appears as if he didn't have any

Leaving Flynn out of this (pretty sure we want him to be guilty), that's a great article.  I usually share it with people in a very different context.  Our justice system is farked, obviously.  Most of us aren't wealthy enough to fight prosecutors

No one sends a letter like this casually.

You don't alter evidence and then file it with a federal judge.

Just. Don't.

Every federal judge will cut off your jimmies with a blunt knife for this. And then give the pieces to the US Attorney to prosecute.

And Sullivan is already beside himself with the insanity of that case.

My.god...

The fact Trumper attorneys have told Judges they are just going to in effect ignore them  and no contempt finding is amazing. Believe a few others have lied in filings. Not an attorney but have golfed with a few judges  and they would have had people put in jail without a thought for doing anything similar.

So, let's say this pisses the judge off so bad he orders Flynn to prison within, say, 10 days.

Does Trump pardon him, knowing that he can't plead the 5th about crimes he was involved in with/for TrumpCo?

Or does he let him rot in prison and hope he keeps his mouth shut (you know Flynn won't do that)?

Or let me phrase it another way, I'm only concerned that Barr and Flynn will get away with yet something else they should be nailed to the wall for because of some stupid skullduggery, and I don't want that to happen.

You know, if don did manage to get reelected the upside is the possibility of seeing 15 to 20 republicans indicted and jailed every year for the next 4 years.

We may even see supreme court justices impeached.

There really doesn't seem to be anyone with an (R) after their name that can't be removed from office anymore.

That makes no sense.

If Trump is re-elected, republicans will be off limits. Just like now.

Once Biden is elected, there's gonna be public hearings.  Presidential pardons mean they must testify before Congress.  Once Billie "Low" Barr is out, the DOJ will take this shiat & forcibly shove it back up their bunghole.

Remember when Jeff Sessions said "I have had no contact with Russians"!!!!

That might not be possible.

If Sullivan finds them in contempt (which he can absolutely do), they can go to jail, directly to jail, not pass go, not receive any pardon.

That said, they'll probably not get more than 30 days for inherent contempt unless they get charged for criminal contempt, which (1) they won't, & (2) could be pardoned.

This isn't Flynn on the line.

It's his lawyers. Or they can try to pass the blame onto someone else who gave them doctored records.

If they can show they received them that way and had no reason to suspect they were altered.

Good luck with that.

Yeah, well, next to John Wayne Gacy Trump, W was a guy with a few parking tickets.  There are degrees of evil, as bad as Republicans have been since the late sixties, Trump is by far the worst. Bush people won't even work with him.

Barr has followed Trump's lies far enough that now he's all in. If Trump goes down, Barr goes with him.  This is what happens when you throw in for a little, "light" collusion with Trump, you end up going all in.
