They conducted "routine monitoring" on only 150 of 666 crew members? Really?! What did the other 516 crew members do, hold their breath for four days on a rotating schedule as 150-person blocks came up for their turn?

FFS, 17th century doctors wearing face masks stuffed with posies, roaming London during the Black Death, had more farking reason & wherewithal than these assholes.

Laughing my ass off because a despised co-worker left for a cruise today.

FFS, those things are disease incubators under good conditions, why the hell would you get on one during a global pandemic?

The three things that should not be operating during a pandemic because they primarily involve lots of tightly packed people:
1. Stadium sports (The NHL was only allowed to play in Canada because they ran it as a 'bubble')
2. Concerts (also usually in stadium)
3. Cruise Ships

I would also say air flights, but because they are a major source of transportation, I can give it some slack. Personally, I have been sick every time I've taken an international flight, so I won't go near a plane until I have had the vaccine.

"The 12 positive cases came to light after the ship tested 150 crew members as part of routine monitoring, according to news reports. The ship currently is sailing with 666 crew members and 922 passengers."

So, out of the 150 they tested, 12 were positive... so out of the 666 crew-members there were probably 53 or so actually positive...

/666 Crewmembers...

I don't know, I feel like the people who decided to pay for those tickets and go on those ships at this time deserve a certain portion of responsibility here

I mean, really just covid. The recession was predictable, because of Covid, but no covid, probably no recession. Venture brothers probably wouldn't even have been cancelled.

If you think the fires or hurricanes in 2020 is a problem, I have some really bad news about 2030.

The economy was overheated and headed for a crash anyway, the virus would've made that worse. Our disastrous response to it is going to make the Great Depression look like a slight blip when all is said and done.

We're going to be looking at now,as shiatty as it is, as the good old days.

The virus is waiting for you to build a distribution network.  Just because your network looks clear so far does not mean it wont jump on the chance to reach out and touch someone.  Keep building those networks, they will come.

I'm starting to think we should round up all the investors and business owners of these industries and pack them all on a single cruise ship and let the magic happen so they get front row seats to the kinds of things their business is doing and what they are doing to the rest of the world. Then sink the damn thing before it gets back to port so they don't infect anyone else.

" The ship is currently sailing with 666 crew members."

Really!!! They couldn't get by with 665? Or keep 667 crew busy? They had to go with 666 crew?
