And here we have Shamus (center), with 2 family members, after a long day of protecting his Lucky Charms.

When my wife and I got married in '89 we went to Ireland for our honeymoon because her family came from there. We went to dinner one night at Bunratty Castle. Outside the castle they had a historical area showing how people used to live in Ireland over the years. They had a house on display, similar to the ones in the photos, and I said to her that I couldn't imagine living in a house like that with a typical large family. She laughed and said she had relatives who still lived in those kinds of houses. A couple days later we visited her great-uncle Patrick. He was 92 years old and still lived in the house where his great-great-great grandfather was born. He had grown up there with his parents and 8 siblings, a house with no separate rooms, just a drape dividing sections. He still cooked over a peat fire in the fireplace. He wouldn't have gotten indoor plumbing if the government hadn't required it.

Nicely done.

Could also be for 1918, if it were a looser white gauze mask.
