1) You are a dumbarse

2) Your vote should count

Am I reading that wrong or did he rule it can be extended but stayed the decision so the parties can appeal?

I'm not very smart with this law talking gibberish.

Lawyers are very smart creating this whole other language you need to pay them hourly to goddamn decipher.

Hell no. Don't make it harder to get in your vote.
And to the people who worry about it taking time to count all the ballots and determine the result,

Does anyone remember when Wisconsin wasn't complete trash?  I feel like less than a decade ago it was a halfway decent state.

This is what happens when you let Republicans take over. As soon as they're in power, they change all the laws and rules to make sure they stay there.  It's time for Democrats to do the same thing.

This works so long as there isn't a COVID resurgence and everyone's scared to vote in person again.

1. Certainly, any ballots received by the close of polling on election day should be counted.
2. Why on earth would ballots postmarked on election day, but not delivered until a few days later not be counted?
3. It is very, very, VERY telling that TFA suggests that not counting legitimate ballots is a victory for the GOP/Trump.

Unfortunately, it's more than just being early (although that helps). Republicans are going to try to prevent the counting of mail ballots altogether, since in most states, your mail-in ballot is counted only AFTER in-person ballots are counted. And with all the rightwing judges that have been appointed lately, there's a halfway decent chance they'll succeed.

To be fair, there's no reason to count them unless they'll make a difference.  If one candidate is ahead by 3,000 votes and there are only 2,000 provisional ballots, it's a waste of time to count them.

Not that it matters here in MO, but anyone can vote early by going to county clerk's office. In my county I actually ran by ballot through a voting machine and didn't have to run it through a lockbox.

Just be careful on amendment 3, at least here in Callaway the explanation text inside the voting booth did not mention it's most important provision, eliminating the demographer in drawing districts and returning to the governor appointing a panel. Vote against this unless you like gerrymandering.

So doing a little math in my head, there are 50 states, plus DC. And you can vote in person on election day, or through absentee, or mail-in voting. (Though some states vary.)

We're looking at roughly 153 different voting systems, 153 different ways of casting a ballot for President. Even though it's probably closer to 120, that's insane. Absolutely insane for a purported first-world country.

The only supposed advantage is that in order to cheat, you have to figure out how to do it in so many different ways instead of just one.

But if half the machines are Diebold, and you have the Diebold cheat codes, maybe it's not an issue.

I don't know if Diebold still owns the industry. I don't know how secure they are, so take all that with a grain of salt. But it should be harder to fix a decentralized election than a centralized election.

Malenfant: ocd002: Wisconsin has early voting. If you can mask up to grocery shop you can mask up to early vote. I'm early voting tomorrow in Illinois.

Don't leave it for Election Day. What if you're sick the day of or stuck in quarantine?

Besides, Biden needs a good showing of votes before the polls close or two scoops will try to claim victory before all ballots are counted.

People who want to live or cut down on indirectly causing other people to die are having their groceries delivered these days.
