Interesting. Remember, males over 50 should get screened, especially with history of smoking. And for the love of all, have a light dinner the night before your ultrasound. Bowel gas is a literal pain. You're in discomfort from the heavy pressing, the sonographer's in pain from pressing so hard.

Dad had that problem. Emphasis on had. Died last month in the front room.

/ I'm pretty sure his dumb teeter hanger didn't help either, but some old guy jumping and saying he feels great is a hypnotic spell for boomers.

I don't know why that guy didn't call it the Teeter Totter.  It's basically a modified see-saw.  😕

Pretty sure this is what's going to kill my mom some day: it bulges like an old fashioned bike tire inner tube. Presses on her spinal nerves creating back pains. At 83 and in general bad shape, she's not a good candidate for surgical intervention, and the bulge is smaller than the size that would trigger a decision by docs to get in there anyhow, so they give her BP meds to keep it down. She reacts badly to the meds and has discontinued them.  I imagine she's going to be working too hard in the back yard moving logs and brush and crap, or shoveling out the driveway this winter, that bulge is finally gonna go pop, like a gunshot to her abdomen, she'll make it about ten steps before she collapses, and that will be about it. She won't be found or noticed until too late. I think she actually is cheering it on as a better end than a slow decline into dementia. She's tough.
