When you are done with all the witch doctors, and voodoo priests, the American people would like some solid advice from above.

Until then, you put us all at risk, and the deaths of us all are on your hands.

Atlas isn't even a practicing physician. And he has no training in epidemiology. He's a radiologist who works as a policy wonk at the rightwing Hoover Institution. And, surprise surprise, he's a frequent guest on Fox News.

Therefore, eminently qualified to serve as the Trump Administration's "Jjina Virus" expert.

This is what makes Fox News so great. They can spot expert talent and get them on the air before anyone else can figure out what is going on.

This is a good example of  being able to tell the difference between information, knowledge, applied knowledge and expertise.

Atlas is being touted as an expert when he barely has applied knowledge in his field. When it comes to epidemiology he barely even gives out information or knowledge.  He doesn't even come close to clearing the bar for applied knowledge and expertise.

And the Dunning Kruger's of the world can't tell the difference between any of it. It's why they are so angry at the "experts."   They can't realize the people they are calling experts are anything but. And that's why they get mad.

Hey Nurse!: The United States has the most cases and the most deaths from Covid in the entire world. 'nuff said. Trump farked this up - period.

It's all the testing we're doing...the best testing...plus, it's mostly misdiagnosis, those folks all died of something else, they just SAY it's Covid, and...um? Err...

(LINE?)

Oh, yeah...it's all a Democrat hoax!

Yes, this is correct, but lets not forget that a chunk of selfish stupid americans also deserve partial credit.

This is the CDC director that talked Trump into Herd Immunity is the best way to fight Covid 19, right?

The question I have is how is this different or better then doing absolutely nothing?

Scott Atlas should be prosecuted for biological terrorism.

I like how they're claiming that it was a "private phone call", even though he made it in one of the most public places possible. Even pre-Covid days, few places are more public than a plane. Sure, there are more people are sporting events and concerts, but those people are yelling and screaming, enjoying the event. On a plane, you're trapped with a bunch of other people, and nobody is making much noise. You might as well have the phone call on live TV at that point, people are going to overhear it, period.

Scott Atlas' job is to hold up the alternate reality Earth where moronic Trumpers live.

Robert Redfield:  Hey, you're Brian Williams!

Brian Williams:  Yes, the last time I checked.

Robert Redfield:  Fasten your seat belt, stow your belongings under your seat, and return your seat to its upright position, buddy, because this is gonna be good.  Hey Marge, put me through to John in Immunology...

Sure is a lot of "no shiat" news today. This asshole that President Useless Asshole hired is farking useless. President Useless Asshole doesn't pay taxes, he has no money and everything he does is dishonest.

Etc.

(shrug) I guess this will be news to someone.

If only the "liberal" media had given this kind of scrutiny to President Useless Asshole BEFORE he was "elected."

Dilbert has been pretty sane on COVID.

I read a discussion of PG Wodehouse, the comic novelist. In person, Wodehouse was described as the dullest person he  [Evelyn Waugh] ever met. The writer [of the essay] speculated that Wodehouse had grown a second soul at his writing desk to let all his comedy come out. In his comic strip, Scott Adams is a wry, droll man. [My opinion anyway.] In his politics and public pronouncements he seems bizarre and almost lunatic. [Again, my opinion] I've never met him, of course, but then I've never met anyone who seems so distinctly two personalities. I wonder which of the two Scott Adams would survive if the two met. Or would he turn into a bland margarine kind of guy. Freed of both daemonic impulses.

I can tell someone doesnt watch Scott's periscopes.

Once this really gets out there, Redfield will be backtracking ASAP. Probably already crafting his excuse such as out of context or something similar.

He uses many of the exact same words as the so-called experts like Failin' Fauci, but his conclusions concur with my own worldview and desires.

And he's a doctor, so it's basically his word against theirs.

Why wouldn't I listen to him?

Oh okay, yeah the comics are just unfunny.

Few newspaper comics have ever been laugh-out-loud funny. Doonesbury, Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes (all pre-sabbatical), and Cul de Sac. Dilbert is droll. I don't mind reading it. (Currently, all his characters wear masks, he added infectiously.)

Think of the comics that were "merely" droll: Krazy Kat, Life with Father, The Katzenjammer Kids, Gasoline Alley, Thimble Theater, Rube Goldberg, They'll Do It Every Time, Pogo, Peanuts.  Droll is good. It's better than wry.

I couldn't watch any of his polemical stuff. It would be like watching Titicut Follies.
